Brad Keselowski (No. 22 Snap-on Dodge Challenger) Finished 3rd “Well, you know this is a short race here at Darlington so you know at the end you’ve got to really fight hard. You don’t have a lot of laps to get it done earlier than that."
“It was frustrating. It was a good points night because they had a bad night and not because we had a good one. We’ve got to do a little bit better at that because we were just way off. It was loose. It was tight. It was never great. We need to look at what we’re doing here because that’s the way we’ve been the last couple times here, but the motor ran great."
KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Wrigley Doublemint Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Starting Position: 5th How was your lap? "Qualifying lap was good. For as good as it felt though, I wish it was about a tenth-and-a-half (of a second) faster. We hadn't run a good, secure lap here today and that was probably the best we had, so pumped about that."
Jimmie Johnson led the way for Team Chevy in today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying session at Darlington Raceway by putting his No. 48 Lowe’s/KOBALT Tools Chevrolet on the outside front row, in second position, missing the pole by a scant one-tenth of a second.
TELL US ABOUT THAT FIRST LAP THAT WAS SO IMPRESSIVE: “It was just a great lap. We have been working hard on the car all day. It had a lot of comfort and speed in it. There are still some great cars to go yet, so we will have to see where we end up. I’m proud of that lap. I felt like there was a little bit left in turns three and four that I didn’t get down there. I hope no one else can find it either (laughs).”
Brad Keselowski (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger R/T) Qualified 15th “This is a hell of a place to go qualify at, that’s for damn sure, but I think our Dodge was respectable. Probably not a pole winning car but definitely strong enough to qualify in the top 15 and we ended up 15th."
KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Wrigley's Doublemint Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing What do you think of the billboard of you that's on display this weekend? "I haven't seen it. I'm not sure what it looks like."
