Denny Hamlin finished 38th in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, forced to retire after 231 of 325 due to an engine failure in the event won by Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch. Hamlin qualified fourth in the #11 machine, but started at the rear of the field following a post-qualifying engine change prior to the race.
James Buescher and his Exide Edge AGM team return to Iowa Speedway after making strides in cutting NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Driver Point Standings leader Matt Crafton's point advantage in each of the last three weeks' events. Buescher sits second in points just 47 points out of first. Buescher and the Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) team have shown some promise each time they have visited Iowa Speedway in the past, including earning a third-place finish the last time at the track.
