This week at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) in Brooklyn, Kyle Busch returns to the seat of the No. 54 Monster Energy Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) Toyota Camry, after recuperating from injuries sustained in the season-opener race that left Busch out of his familiar black machine for 11 weeks.

Three drivers. When it came to the story of the Pocono race, only three mattered. You probably wanted to know who led the race for the opening few laps, and that would have been Carl Edwards. He finished 15th. For the rest of the way, it was down to two names, right down to the final lap; Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick. No one else much mattered on Sunday.

But this victory was about so much more than mere numbers. Its significance transcends breaking a losing streak, leading the most laps or cementing his standing in the Chase. This was about beating the odds, both professionally and personally.

In a peculiar race at Pocono, filled with shifting and unexpected bumps, here is what else was surprising and not surprising in the 34th annual Axalta We Paint Winners 400.

Richard Childress Racing teammates Austin Dillon, Paul Menard and Ryan Newman finished 19th, 31st and 39th, respectively, in the Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway. Menard ranks 11th in the Sprint Cup Series championship point standings, trailing current leader Kevin Harvick by 174 points, while Newman ranks 15th and Dillon 24th.

Pocono Raceway is known as the “Tricky Triangle” but Greg Biffle had a fast No. 16 Ortho Ford and was up for the challenge. Biffle narrowly missed advancing in qualifying to the second round and was left starting 27th.

Ty Dillon drove Circle Sport Racing's No. 33 Yuengling America's Oldest Brewery Chevrolet SS to an 18th-place finish Sunday afternoon at Pocono Raceway in his third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start of the 2015 season.

Martin Truex, Jr. dominated the 160-lap contest in the Axalta ‘We Paint Winners’ 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway by leading 97 circuits en route to his first win of 2015. It marked his third career Cup Series win and his first victory at the 2.5-mile ‘Tricky Triangle’. Truex, Jr.’s win extends Chevrolet’s success at Pocono Raceway to six consecutive victories dating back to Jeff Gordon’s win in the fall of 2012. The No. 78 Furniture Row/Visser Precision Chevrolet SS led the parade of race cars to the checkered flag with Team Chevy taking six of the top 10 finishing positions.

To borrow a saying from a television commercial -- Martin Truex Jr. and the single-car Furniture Row Racing team won Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway the old fashioned way -- THEY EARNED IT!

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, finished in the 24th position on Sunday afternoon in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Pocono Raceway.
