NASCAR Cup Series

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the Camping World Truck Series head to Kansas Speedway this weekend, while the NASCAR XFINITY Series is off.

Although he's primarily an Xfinity driver for Roush-Fenway Racing, Chris Buescher has shown some promise in the five Sprint Cup starts he's made in 2015. He finished 20th in his debut at Fontana, but in his next four races in the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford he had three top-25 finishes with a low point of 30th at Texas.

There are a dozen races run on eight tracks that are truly iconic NASCAR events. Last Sunday was one of those races. The SpongeBob SquarePants 400 in Kansas is not. That is not to say we will not see one of the all-time great races this Saturday night...though the odds might be stacked against us.

We do not agree with the final appeal ruling. We feel we had a compelling case and still fell we were in the right and the facts presented today would have proved that. We do appreciate the opportunity to be heard.

Today the National Motorsports Final Appeals Officer, Mr. Bryan Moss, heard and considered the appeal of a P5 penalty issued on March 31, 2015 to Richard Childress (owner), Ryan Newman (driver), Lucas Lambert (crew chief), James Bender (tire technician) and Philip Surgen (race engineer) relative to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series vehicle #31 at Auto Club Speedway.

Back On Track...The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) returns to the track this weekend in Kansas City, Kansas for the Toyota Tundra 250. Ryan Ellis will make his 2nd NCWTS start at the Kansas Speedway.

This weekend at Kansas Speedway, the 22-year-old Larson will be making his 50th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start. Larson’s first start in the NSCS came in the fall of 2013 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and was followed that season by starts at Martinsville Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, where he led one lap in the season finale.

Back On Track...The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) returns to the track this weekend in Kansas City, Kansas for the Toyota Tundra 250. Travis Kvapil will make his 7th NCWTS start at the Kansas Speedway.
