NASCAR Cup Series

After a week off, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to action with Saturday night’s event at Texas Motor Speedway. Here are some notes on Ford’s history at the 1.5-mile track, which includes being the winningest manufacturer in the Cup Series with 12 victories.

When you hear the names Earnhardt and Elliott many things come to mind. Generations of history, countless wins, and intense battles are just to name a few. These names have become part of NASCAR, and fans across the sport have grown to love them.

This Week's Texas 28 Spirits Stage Toyota at Texas Motor Speedway: JJ Yeley will pilot Chassis No. 233 in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Yeley last drove this car a few weeks ago at Auto Club Speedway where he brought it home to a 22nd place finish.

Richard Childress Racing's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history at Texas Motor Speedway ... In 84 starts at Texas Motor Speedway dating back to 1997, RCR has recorded one win (Jeff Burton, April 2007), eight top-five and 30 top-10 finishes with drivers Burton, Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Green, Paul Menard and Ryan Newman.

Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) and Biagi-DenBeste Racing announced today that they will continue their partnership with Aric Almirola and Sam Hornish Jr. in the Biagi-DenBeste No. 98 Ford Mustang in 10 NASCAR XFINITY Series races this season. Top talents, Almirola and Hornish drove for the team in four races in the XFINITY Series earlier this season.

As the boys and girl venture on to Fort Worth, it seems apropos for some to seek a resurrection of their hopes on the season. For others, the off weekend did little to help matters from where we left off after Martinsville.

Precision Performance Motorsports (PPM) announced today Brandon Gdovic will make his debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Texas Motor Speedway, driving the No. 55 WindStax™ Wind Power Systems Chevrolet Camaro for Viva Motorsports.

Texas Preview: The Series heads to Texas Motor Speedway following an off-weekend for Sunday’s 501-mile event on the fast, 1.5-mile oval. Hamlin is a two-time Texas winner, sweeping both races at the track during his eight-win 2010 season. He has 10 top-10 finishes in 18 starts at Texas, and has led 154 laps at the track, including 23 in last year’s events.

HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi announced today that Brennan Poole will compete in two additional NASCAR XFINITY races this season, both at Iowa Speedway. He will take to the track in the No. 42 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro on May 17 and August 1 at the 0.875-mile track. The Texas native will now compete in 17 XFINITY Series races for HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi in 2015.
