Joey Logano emerged from a classic late-race battle where three-wide racing was the white-knuckle norm, to win the 57th DAYTONA 500 on Sunday at Daytona International Speedway.

Following a restart with 19 laps to go, Joey Logano was able to put himself in position to challenge for the lead in the Daytona 500. He would then take charge of the top lane, bringing it to the front, taking the lead with nine laps to go. The caution would fly five laps later for an incident between Justin Allgaier and Ty Dillon. Logano would then hold off the field in the final charge to the flag, leading the field into turn three as the caution waved for a big wreck on the backstretch.

The race ended in a green-white-checkered finish and with his Roush Fenway teammate in tow the duo had hopes of making it to the front. Biffle avoided the last-lap accident that took out his teammate, and with no drafting help still held on for a 10th-place finish.

Stenhouse Jr. Finishes 29th After Last Lap Accident in Daytona 500

On the final green-white-checkered attempt of the 57th running of the Daytona 500, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. lined up in the 14th position behind teammate Greg Biffle but on the final lap contact was made between the No. 3 and No. 24 machines collecting Stenhouse forcing him to take the checkered flag in the 29th position.

Last-Lap Incident Leaves Bayne with 30th-Place Finish in Daytona 500

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, was battling three-wide in the closing stages of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway when he sustained damage in a last-lap incident that ultimately led to him taking the checkered flag in the 30th position.
