“Overall, I like the 2015 rules package. Reducing the downforce should make the driver a greater part of the success equation. We can debate whether NASCAR should have gone further, but it is a step in the right direction. Our racing has been good this year and I think these rules will make the racing even better for 2015 and beyond.

Chase Update… NASCAR’s Challenger Round – the first of the four rounds that make up the 2014 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship – comes to an end this weekend at Dover. Harvick sits third in the driver point standings, seven points behind leader Brad Keselowski.

Fans at Phoenix International Raceway will be in for a thrill at the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 when Hayley Orrantia, one of the stars ABC’s hit sitcom “The Goldbergs,” performs the national anthem on stage before the start of the race. The final Eliminator race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m. MST (3:00 p.m. EST) and will be televised live on ESPN.

Like most NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, McMurray depends on private air travel to get back and forth to races, sponsor appearances and test sessions. NASCAR announced its 2015 rules package for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this afternoon. Ford Racing spoke with Roush Yates Engines CEO Doug Yates and got his reaction to these changes.

Following more than a year of extensive collaboration with stakeholders throughout the industry, and with a keen eye towards the future, NASCAR has finalized and delivered to teams the 2015 racing package for all three national series.

Heading into the third race of the Challenger Round of NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup, the No. 2 Team Penske Ford will once again fly the Wurth colors as its primary sponsor this weekend. Through the opening two rounds of the Chase, Keselowski and the No. 2 Wurth Ford Fusion have held the top spot in the standings.

Stenhouse Jr. has four career Sprint Cup starts at the Monster Mile. He has an average starting position of 20.2 and average finishing position of 20.8.

A new twist to qualifying for the DAYTONA 500 is among the 2015 rules changes that NASCAR officials announced on Tuesday afternoon.
