Ford Racing Did You Know? … Dover 2 Edition

Ford Racing has won the first two Chase races for the first time since Greg Biffle did it in 2008 (Loudon and Dover). A win this weekend at Dover International Speedway would mark the first time Ford Racing has won three straight Chase events since the format was adopted in 2004.

The Final Word – Loudon was Full of Surprises, and Not all of Them Were Happy Ones

New Hampshire, for about 180 laps, was a mind numbing experience. It was the Round-and-round 300, and when you add the beleaguered ESPN desk trios to the mix, it was damn near unwatchable. Then stuff started to happen.

Handling woes continued, but with fresher tires Biffle was able to make some ground on the multiple restarts that ensued in the closing laps. By the time the checkered flag fell Biffle crossed the finish 16th, moving up to 13th in the Chase standings with one race remaining before the first four cars are eliminated from moving to the second round.

Stenhouse Jr. Finishes 39th at New Hampshire

“I blew a left front tire,” Stenhouse said afterwards. “We were all racing really hard on that restart. Everybody was bouncing off each other. I don’t know who hit my left-front, but it got a fender rub and just blew the tire going down front straightaway. I was trying to get my EcoPower Re-Refined Oil Ford slowed down as much as I could but it wouldn’t turn. We had a top-15 car but just wasn’t our day.”
