Kevin Harvick captured his fifth pole of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway with a record speed of 131.362 mph, setting a new track record. It is his 11th career pole in the series.

Chevrolet took its third straight pole and will occupy the front row for Saturday night’s IRWIN Tools Night race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Jimmy Johns Chevrolet SS, scored his fifth NASCAR Sprint Cup series pole position and continues to extend his career record for poles won in a single season. His lap of 14.607 seconds and average speed of 131.362 was a new track record for the .5-mile speedway.
