We had a good run going at Pocono last time, but got caught up on that last restart. It’s cool to have the 3M logo from 1942 featured on the No. 16 this weekend and I’m ready to get to Pocono.”

Good morning, everyone. We're joined today by Alan Gustafson, crew chief of the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports and driver Jeff Gordon in the Sprint Cup Series. Alan led the 24 team to victory last weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which marked Jeff Gordon's fifth Brickyard win.

ON A ROLL: Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) drivers Kyle Busch (second), Denny Hamlin (third) and Matt Kenseth (fourth) all recorded top-five finishes last Sunday in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The last time three JGR Camrys finished together in the top-five was in September 2010 at Richmond International Raceway with Hamlin (first), Busch (second) and former Camry driver Joey Logano (fourth). Busch has registered second-place results in three of the last four NSCS races, Kenseth has recorded fourth-place results in three of the last four races and Hamlin has recorded top-10s in three consecutive starts.

A candid Martin Truex Jr. has said the first 20 races of 2014 have not gone the way the Furniture Row Racing team had anticipated. But the driver of the No. 78 Chevrolet has not given up. He feels the team is only a few tweaks from advancing to another level of competition in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Farm Rich will go NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing once again, returning to David Ragan's No. 34 Ford in the company's and the driver's home state. The frozen snacks and appetizers brand will be the primary sponsor of David Ragan's Ford Fusion at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway on Aug. 31 for the Atlanta 500.

Six-Time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson will visit Atlanta on Wed., Aug 6 and participate in a host of activities in preparation of the Atlanta 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway Labor Day Weekend.

Chicagoland Speedway today announced Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the official cardiovascular partner of NASCAR®, as the title sponsor of this year’s first Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup™ race. The MyAFibStory.com 400 will take place on Sunday, September 14, 2014 in recognition of National AFib Awareness Month, running throughout September.

The No. 11 team that competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has been penalized for a rules infraction discovered in post-race inspection July 27 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This infraction is a P5 level penalty which is outlined in Section 12-4.5 A (9) of the 2014 NASCAR rule book:

Pocono Raceway: “It’s really the first track we get to go back to a second time,” Allmendinger said. “We’re hoping that going back to these tracks a second time will help us. At least, we will have somewhere to start from when we begin first practice on Fridays."

Coming off the heels of making history on hallowed ground at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Team Chevy looks to continue its winning ways at Pocono. Last weekend, when Jeff Gordon took the checkered flag to win his fifth race at the Brickyard, he gave Chevrolet its 12th consecutive victory at the legendary track. Although not as many as 12, the Bowtie Brand has enjoyed a four-race winning streak at Pocono Raceway.
