Cole Whitt and the No. 26 Al's Liner / Scorpion Window Film Toyota Camry team finished 34th at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday afternoon. Rain showers plagued the 2.5-mile superspeedway throughout the weekend to limit practice, abbreviate qualifying, and bring an early end to the scheduled 400-mile race. Despite the limited track time to prepare for the event, Whitt raced inside the top 25 throughout most of the afternoon before being caught in a 26-car pile up on lap 98.

Alex Bowman and the No. 23 Dr Pepper Toyota Camry team finished 13th at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday afternoon. The result marked the best Sprint Cup Series finish in the Sunoco rookie contender's career, as well as the best finish for BK Racing since October 2012.

Ryan Truex and the No. 83 VooDoo BBQ / Armed Forces Motorsports Toyota Camry team finished 32nd at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday afternoon. After rolling off at the back of the pack, Truex made a steady climb through the field and was racing in the 14th position when he was collected in "the big one," which resulted in a 32nd-place finish.

The commitment of Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) and all its partners to get into The Chase came to fruition Sunday afternoon at the perfect place, The World Center of Racing, the Daytona International Speedway. Putting the No. 43 back where it should be, Aric Almirola and the No. 43 U.S. Air Force team won the rain-delayed and rain-shortened Coke Zero 400 Sunday afternoon. The win is Almirola's first in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. It also brings RPM their fifth and Petty their 273rd win in the Sprint Cup Series- the most of all-time.

A delayed, crash-filled and rain-shortened race at Daytona saw NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie Michael Annett emerge with his fourth finish of 21st or better in the last five races.

A group of nine multi-car teams participating in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) announced today they have formed a collaborative business association called the Race Team Alliance (RTA). The purpose of the organization is to create an open forum for the teams to explore areas of common interest and to work collaboratively on initiatives to help preserve, promote, and grow the sport of stock car racing. The organization intends to open up its membership to all full time NSCS teams in the very near future.

Richard Childress Racing teammates Austin Dillon, Paul Menard and Ryan Newman finished fifth, 16th and 24th, respectively. Newman ranks eighth in the Sprint Cup Series championship point standings, trailing current leader Jeff Gordon by 117 points, while Menard ranks 10th and Dillon ranks 13th.

After rain cancelled night racing at Daytona International Speedway, Carl Edwards hit the two-and-a-half mile track Sunday morning, starting in the 11th-spot. The No.99 Subway Ford Fusion was running with a tight pack in three-wide formation and was caught up in a 16-car pileup on lap 20.
