This week the NCAA kicks off March Madness and the college basketball world will soon crown its champion. NASCAR holds its own version of March Madness later this year when the Challenger (Sweet 16), Contender (Elite 8), and Eliminator (Final Four) rounds decide the 2014 Sprint Cup champion in a winner-take-all race at Homestead.

California love: “California, it’s so nice there,” AJ Allmendinger said. “For the most part, the weather there is really nice. It is beautiful scenery whether you’re from Northern California (San Jose) like I am or if you go down to Southern California where we are going to race. It’s just a beautiful state.”

Biffle has 19 Sprint Cup Series starts at Fontana, earning one win, four top-five and seven top-10 finishes. He has an average starting position of 13.4 and finishing position of 16.6 at the track.

Stenhouse has one career Cup start at Fontana where he finished 20th after he took two right side tires and fuel for the closing laps. On the final green flag, Stenhouse restarted in the ninth position but got pinned down shuffling him back to take the checkered flag in the 20th-position.
