Leavine Family Racing (LFR) announced Monday that Michael McDowell will drive the team's No. 95 Ford Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry in 2014.

Jeff Gordon’s win of the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway captured the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Manufacturers’ Cup Championship for Chevrolet. It marks the 11th consecutive year, and the 37th time overall that the Bowtie Brand has captured the prestigious title in NASCAR’s premiere series. It is also the first Manufacturers’ Cup award for the Gen-6 Chevrolet SS race car.

The seventh annual T. Wayne Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by WSJS and ESPN Radio will be held Monday, October 28 at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, N.C., and will benefit the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma. NASCAR owner Richard Childress will attend.

Kurt Busch finished 18th with a damaged race car in Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway.

Four time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Jeff Gordon, scores his first win of the season and eighth career win at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday in the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500. He is now tied with teammate, Jimmie Johnson, for the most wins at Martinsville among active drivers.

It seems like every time we come to Martinsville with the Miller Lite Ford Fusion we run right in that fourth, fifth, sixth range and I was just trying to break out and get to victory lane, but came up a bit short today. It was a solid effort. We were quite a ways off at the start of the race and Paul Wolfe and everybody on the 2 crew dialed us in a little better and got some decent track position there at the end when it counts.”

In the closing laps of the Kroger 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway, Ty Dillon, grandson of Richard Childress, and Kevin Harvick, driver of Richard Childress’s No. 29 Sprint Cup Series car, made contact crashing both trucks.
