NASCAR Cup Series

58-year-old Ken Schrader will end his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) driving the No. 32 this weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway (HMS). Schrader began his career racing at Nashville Speedway in 1984 where he qualified 28th and concluded the race in 19th. Schrader most likely expected racing to stay a hobby after that event, I doubt he though it become an entire life for him until 2013.

The two-time Nationwide champion has three career starts in the Nationwide Series at HMS posting two top-five and three top-10 finishes.

Marcos Ambrose and the No. 9 DEWALT Ford team have one more opportunity to score a win in 2013 this weekend at the Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway. The team finished well in the race last season and is poised to contend for the win in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season finale.

Aric Almirola heads to one of his best tracks this weekend for the Sprint Cup Series season finale. He hopes to drive the No. 43 Smithfield Ford to Victory Lane in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway and end the season on a high note in his home state.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 Cargill Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and No. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, announced today that he has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Harvick’s win at PIR on Sunday marked his fourth victory at the 1-mile speedway and the 23rd of his NSCS career. He is now tied with Johnson for the most NSCS wins at PIR.

David Ragan claims not to be superstitious, but you wouldn't blame him if he slipped a rabbit's foot into his pocket at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway this weekend. The driver of the No. 34 Taco Bell Ford has a three-week run of bad luck and needs to finish the season with a good run in the Sprint Cup Series finale on Sunday.

Most people will remember the dramatic 1-2 finish where David Gilliland pushed teammate David Ragan to victory at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway earlier this year. But Gilliland and the No. 38 Long John Silver's team probably look at their improvement at the Sprint Cup Series' mile-and-a-half tracks as their biggest accomplishment in 2013.

Homestead-Miami Speedway will host a Ford Classic Car Show in conjunction with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Ford EcoBoost 400 championship race on Sunday (Nov. 17). Track President Matthew Becherer made the announcement.
