It's probably not been my best track over the last few years, but it's a great race track. It's really wide. The cars that handle good really show a lot of strength as the run goes on and the tires drop off with slick pavement and all that stuff. I'm excited to be here and excited to come off a win last week. Hopefully we can come here and perform good again this week and get a good finish and keep some momentum."

Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion, is currently ninth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings with two races remaining before the field is set for the Chase. Biffle spoke about his situation in the AMS infield media center before Friday’s practice.

Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion, is on the Chase bubble with two races remaining. He sits just outside a guaranteed top-10 transfer position in 11th-place, just four points behind Penske Racing teammate Joey Logano. The defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion visited the Atlanta Motor Speedway infield media center to talk about this weekend’s race and what it’s going to take to make the 12-driver Chase field.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Bobby Labonte has been treated and released from a local hospital near his home in Trinity, North Carolina. Labonte was involved in an accident while riding his bicycle near his home on the morning of Wednesday, August 28 and received three broken ribs. He was held overnight for observation.

It would appear that Tony Stewart is not the only dog who can bark in the SHR dog pound. Gene Haas not only has a share of the team, but his own money to spend on sponsorship, and he was not going to spend it on Ryan Newman. Kurt Busch was his man, and he got him. It might not have been what Stewart wanted, but without a sugar daddy of his own, Newman got shown the door and Kurt found himself a new team for 2014.
