NASCAR Cup Series

Preseason Thunder testing with the new NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car continued on Friday at Daytona International Speedway in advance of the 55th annual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 24.

Kurt Busch, who was hired by Furniture Row Racing late in 2012 to run the last 6 races of the season and returns in 2013 to pilot the #78 Furniture Row Chevrolet along with crew chief Todd Berrier.

""I have no idea. I didn't see anything happening in front of me. Just saw the smoke and then a car sideways and I started trying to check up. I feel like I did a pretty good job checking up."

“I don’t know what started it. I know we were in a pack drafting, just trying to learn the cars and what this aero package is doing. Some guys started forming a line on the inside and things started getting a little more aggressive at that point. Somebody must have turned or got turned or something and then they just all started stacking up.”

“No, I haven't seen it yet. But it doesn't really matter. I just feel bad for my Stanley and Richard Petty Motorsports team. You know, I had junior pushing me. He’s just a great drafter, really can feel it well. I guess I just got caught on the edge of the bumper there and with the shaped noses and the tires, just spun me out."

The 2013 Daytona Preseason Thunder test session continued Friday with teams doing single-car runs in the morning session. Sprint Cup rookie Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took time to talk with Ford Racing while adjustments were being made to his No. 17 Best Buy Ford Fusion about how things have gone so far.

Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion, was part of a handful of drivers who met with media at Daytona between the morning and afternoon test sessions Friday. Biffle talked about what the team has done so far, hopes to accomplish and more.

"So far so good. Everything has been great. Our car had a lot of speed, it drives really good. Pretty uneventful day and a half so far."

As part of a new partnership between Auto Club Speedway and Toyota, officials announced today that the Toyota Camry will lead the field to the start of the Auto Club 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and the Royal Purple 300 NNS race at Southern California's premier motorsports facility, March 23 - 24, 2013.

Jimmie Johnson, five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and the 2006 Daytona 500 winner, has partnered with Daytona International Speedway to provide fans with “The 48 Experience,” the ultimate race fan package for the 55th annual Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Feb. 24.
