NASCAR Cup Series

Kurt Busch is the most recent winner after dominating last year’s race in his No. 22 Dodge. Busch led 76 of the 110 laps. Other Dodge winners at Sonoma include Juan Pablo Montoya (2007) and Kasey Kahne (2009).

Quaker State is celebrating Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) victory since 2008 by offering Kentucky Speedway fans an $88 Kentucky Tower Grandstand ticket for the June 30 “Quaker State 400” along with a free Dale Jr., T-shirt for only 88 hours beginning Wednesday, June 20 at 9:00 a.m.

The road course was not originally on the selective race schedule for Leavine Family Racing's No. 95 Ford Fusion, but Speed quickly convinced them of the benefits of racing through Northern California's wine country.

Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 9 Stanley Ford Fusion for Richard Petty Motorsports, will try to make it two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series road course wins in a row this weekend in Sonoma as the circuit makes its annual visit to wine country.

Teens from across Northeast Florida came together today to recognize Daytona International Speedway for its bold move to make the speedway’s grandstands smoke-free. The teens from 21 surrounding counties are part of Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT).

Two California tracks (Sonoma and Auto Club Speedway) continue to host NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events. There have been 23 events at each track. Riverside Raceway, which was the site of 48 Sprint Cup events between 1958 and 1988, leads the list of 13 other tracks that previously hosted NASCAR’s premier series.

Trans Am Champion Tomy Drissi will join Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) at Sonoma. Drissi will make his fourth NASCAR start and first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start when he gets behind the wheel of the No. 10 Ice Age: Continental Drift Chevrolet for the 110-lap event.

This weekend RFR and NASCAR take their first ‘right-turns’ of the season with road course action split across the country. The Sprint Cup Series travels to the wine country of northern California for a showdown at Sonoma, while the Nationwide Series heads to Road America in Wisconsin.

EGR at Sonoma: In 29 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Sonoma, EGR teams boast one win with Juan Pablo Montoya on June 24, 2007. EGR drivers have finished in the top-five three times and the top-10 seven times.
