NASCAR fans may think they’re seeing double during the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Sunday at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

No. 56 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota driver Martin Truex Jr. will soon see his MTJ Motorsports race shop in Mooresville, N.C. transformed from a garage housing his old race cars into a high-fashion venue more suited for the pages of Vogue and InStyle magazines.

The Aaron's 499 atTalladega Superspeedway will be Travis Kvapil's first taste of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series restrictor plate racing in 2012. Kvapil is excited to return to the traditional, multi-car pack racing that once dominated the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

Last weekend's Capital City 400 was monumental for Landon Cassill. He recorded his best starting position (21st) and best finish (20th) of the 2012 season. It was BK Racing's second top-20 finish since its formation in February.

Following top-25 finishes in both races at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) last year, Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) had high hopes for two solid finishes. Unfortunately, that was not in the cards in Saturday’s Primetime race.

There is that old saying that states the more things change, the more they stay the same. There was Kyle Busch winning the spring race at Richmond back in 2009. Then again in 2010. In 2011. Then last Saturday night. Four straight spring race wins at a track he has always done well at.

Richard Petty Motorsports asserted its commitment to winning with thehiring of Chase-proven Mike Ford as crew chief for the No. 43 team and driver Aric Almirola. The veteran crew chief joins the team after leading Denny Hamlin’s No. 11 team to six straight post-season appearances in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Pocono Raceway today added Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, to its list of driver ticket packages being offered for the Pocono 400 race weekend occurring June 8-10.

Tickets for NASCAR’s Ford Championship Weekend go on sale to the general public Tuesday (May 1) at 9:00 a.m. EST. This fall will mark the 11th consecutive year champions will be crowned in South Florida for NASCAR’s top three national series — the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series— the weekend of November 16-18.
