Dover International Speedway will host two NASCAR weekends featuring Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races on May 1-3 and Aug. 21-23 in 2020, track officials announced today following NASCAR’s release of the full Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 2020 schedule.

The Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line will move to Fourth of July weekend starting in 2020, creating a new marquee summer event in Indianapolis and on the national sporting calendar.

Darlington Raceway will kick off the NASCAR Playoffs in 2020 with the NASCAR Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 scheduled for Sunday, September 6. It will be Darlington Raceway’s first-ever appearance in NASCAR’s current postseason format.

Beginning in 2020, the Coke Zero Sugar 400 NASCAR Cup Series race will shift from its July 4th weekend date to Saturday night, Aug. 29 and will serve as the final race of the NASCAR regular season, Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said.

Pocono Raceway will host a double-header race weekend in 2020, featuring two NASCAR Cup races on back-to-back days, on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28. Camping and Cup race ticket prices will not increase for the 2020 NASCAR race weekend.

The Valley of the Sun will play host to a new championship sporting event as NASCAR announced today that the NASCAR Championship Weekend will be held at ISM Raceway, November 6-8, 2020, for the first time in the sport’s history. Featuring the deciding races for each of the three NASCAR national touring series, this exciting development was announced in a press conference today from ISM Raceway’s Gatorade Victory Lane, which included track president Julie Giese, NASCAR Vice Chairman Mike Helton and Governor of Arizona Doug Ducey.

Newman will make his 32nd start at Texas on Sunday. In 31 prior races Newman has one win with three top-five and six top-10 finishes and an average finish of 18.9.

Martinsville Recap: Denny Hamlin finished fifth at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on Sunday, pushing his way back through the field after a pit road penalty sent him to the back of the pack midway through the race. Denny started the 500-lap race in the fifth position. He kept the FedEx Ground Toyota in the top five for the entire first half of the race, reaching as high as second, despite saying the car needed more help gripping the track through the short-track turns.
