NASCAR Cup Series

The NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. is the Mecca to which fans and anyone who has been involved with NASCAR can visit and pay homage to those who have made NASCAR the sport that it is today.

In a time when money is tight and people are having a hard time with funding, NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch is going against the norm and expanding.

In spite of California’s Auto Club Speedway being admittedly hard hit by the economy, high unemployment, and by NASCAR, losing its second race for the 2011 season, the track put on a surprisingly good show.

Tony Stewart held off Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson in the final laps and won Sunday's Pepsi Max 400 at Auto Club Speedway.

There is no doubt that NASCAR has faced its share of struggles this season, from sagging attendance at the tracks to a significant drop in the television ratings, even during the Chase.

After Kyle Busch and David Reutimann got into each other in Kansas, many have been wondering whether Chase drivers should be raced differently by non-Chase drivers.

With six races left in the Chase for the Sprint Cup, and competitors finding themselves out of contention for the title after each race, it will be interesting to see if the two brothers play nice around each other, or if there may be another tense Christmas dinner for the Busch family.

NASCAR, like almost all sports, is based on competition. It’s all about the team with the fastest car, the best setup, the most points and wins.

The Pepsi Max 400 will be televised on Sunday October 10 at 2:00p.m. on ESPN, with the drop of the green flag scheduled for 3:00p.m.
