Kevin Harvick: Harvick started second and sported the best car for much of the day. But two pit road incidents, a loose lug nut and a penalty for too many crewman over the wall, cost him the win. He still finished second and is fourth in the Monster Energy Cup points standings.

It doesn’t get any easier for Martin Truex Jr. after experiencing an unexpected, race-ending problem in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Bayne will make his eighth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Bristol this weekend. In seven starts he has totaled two top 10’s, one top five and an average finish of 16th.

NASCAR® and Monster Energy have signed an agreement that will extend the entitlement sponsorship of NASCAR’s premier series. The extension keeps NASCAR and Monster Energy partners through 2019. As part of the agreement, the brand also continues as the Official Energy Drink of NASCAR.

It's back! The famed No. 43 will again carry the STP colors this weekend during Sunday's Food City 500 at the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. The Bubba Wallace-designed scheme will make its return to the track after a disappointing finish in the STP 500 at the Martinsville (Va.) Speedway earlier this year.

Bristol Preview: The Series makes its way to “Thunder Valley” for Sunday’s 500-lap event around the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway. In his last five starts at the concrete short track, Hamlin has collected three top-five finishes and four top-10 finishes. During the Series’ visit to Bristol last spring, Hamlin lined up second for the race’s final restart with 32 laps remaining, but the less-preferred groove prevented him from advancing forward and he was forced to settle for a 10th-place finish.

"When I walk into the place, it still takes my breath away. I always tell people, if they’ve never been to Bristol, or a NASCAR race, that’s the track to go to. It’s a tough race. I like a lot of short tracks, and I look at Martinsville (Speedway) and Bristol the same way. You know you’re in it for 500 laps. It’s a grind. You never really get a breath."
