Richard Childress Racing's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series history at Daytona International Speedway ... Dating back to 1976, Richard Childress Racing has won 11 poles and collected five points-paying victories at the most-storied race track on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series circuit. RCR owns two Daytona 500 wins (Dale Earnhardt - 1998, Kevin Harvick - 2007), three Coke Zero 400 trophies (Earnhardt - 1990, 1993 and Harvick - 2010) and 14 qualifying races, including 10-consecutive victories with Earnhardt (1990 - 1999). In addition, RCR has earned the Advance Auto Parts Clash a total of eight times, with drivers Harvick (2009, 2010, 2013) and Earnhardt (1986, '88, '91, '93, and '95).

But it also says if you force somebody below the yellow line that that car could be black-flagged, but we asked NASCAR and we haven’t heard back from them on that. Typical. I guess the next time somebody gets to the inside of me I’ll force them below the yellow line and then they’ll have to pit and they’ll be in the same position that I was in. If that’s the way they’re gonna call it, then I guess we’ll race that way. We’ll see if they get back to us before we race tomorrow.”

Yeah, you just never know exactly what will be asked of you or how your season will look from that side of things.”

Daytona Success: The Series kicks off its regular season this Sunday with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Hamlin will start the event from the front row alongside Alex Bowman after posting the second fastest lap time (46.132) during single-car qualifying Sunday, and it will be his sixth top-five start in 25 races at the 2.5-mile tri-oval. In addition to claiming the title of “2016 Daytona 500 Champion,” Hamlin has also led a total of 385 laps on the high banks of Daytona, and notched six top-five and seven top-10 finishes in 24 career starts.
