One more silly season question was settled today with the announcement that William Byron will drive the No. 5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports in 2018, the team officially announced today.

With Michigan International Speedway (MIS) being the next stop on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, Martin Truex Jr. has a similar feeling to what he had before last week’s race at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International.

Stenhouse Jr. has nine Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Michigan International Speedway with an average starting position of 22.1 and average finishing position of 21.3.

Roush Fenway Racing heads back to that 8-Mile road and the home of Ford Motor Company for the second time in 2017 as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) prepares for 400-miles at the Michigan International Speedway. Meanwhile, the NASCAR XFINITY Series heads back to the land of the Rock and Roll and Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend for the penultimate road course race of the 2017 season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Trevor Bayne will make his 14th Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Michigan this weekend. In 13 previous starts at the two-mile oval, Bayne has recorded one top-10 finish, a ninth in the June 2015 event.

Promoting Byron to the Cup Series. He just hasn't been established enough to make a successful jump. Granted, he's no stranger to Victory Lane, but as has been proven time and again, Cup cars are entirely different animals from XFINITY, Trucks, and so forth.

Truex held off Matt Kenseth to win the I Love New York 355 At The Glen, earning his fourth win of the season. Truex leads the Monster Energy Cup points standings by 16 over Kyle Busch.
