The Series heads to Texas Motor Speedway for Sunday’s 334-lap event on the 1.5-mile oval. Hamlin has captured two wins at the intermediate track, scoring back-to-back victories at the Lone Star State speedway during his prosperous 2010 season.

Roush Fenway Racing returns to the former home of Tony Romo and to the land of “Jerry World” this weekend as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) prepares to do battle at Texas Motor Speedway, a track that has seen a Roush Fenway Ford be the “Lonestar” in victory lane 18 times across NASCAR’s three major touring series.

For Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 Performance Plus Motor Oil Ford Fusion, Texas Motor Speedway is a land of a lot of firsts. Bayne made his first career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at the 1.5-mile oval in Nov. 2010, earning a 17th-place finish.

The three veteran Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) Camry drivers have multiple MENCS wins at Texas Motor Speedway … Busch won at the track in April 2013 and again last spring, while Denny Hamlin has swept both Texas Cup races in 2010 and Matt Kenseth won twice at the track prior to joining JGR and Toyota (April 2002, April 2011)

1. Brad Keselowski: Keselowski passed Kyle Busch with 43 laps and cruised to the win at Martinsville, earning his first win at the Virginia short track.

Though Truex has averaged a 6.5 finish in the past four NASCAR Cup Series races in Fort Worth, Texas, he feels his No. 78 Furniture Row Racing team has missed out on a victory or two at the 1.5-mile super-fast oval.

STRONG AT TEXAS: Dale Earnhardt Jr. hasn’t finished outside of the top six in the last four races he has run at Texas Motor Speedway. While the driver of the No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet SS hasn’t been to Victory Lane since winning his first NASCAR Cup Series race in his first start at the Fort Worth, Texas, track on April 2, 2000, at age 25,

Stenhouse has eight Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) with an average starting position of 18.8 and average finishing position of 21.6.

Trevor Bayne makes his 14th career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. In 13 previous starts at the 1.5-mile oval, Bayne has recorded a best finish of 15th in the spring 2016 event after leading 12 laps.

When NASCAR teams arrive at Texas this week they’ll see for the first time a Texas track with less banking in Turns One and Two. The banking in those turns has been decreased from 24 degrees to 20, while Turns Three and Four remain at 24 degrees. There also will be an extra 20 feet of racing surface in Turns One and Two, pushing the total to 80 feet.
