Each season, the manufacturer reps and original engine manufacturers (OEM's) meet with the NASCAR media corp in the deadline room at Daytona International Speedway to discuss the expectations for the upcoming season. The biggest takeaway from the Ford availability, however, is that retiring as a NASCAR driver hasn't changed the fact that Tony Stewart is still the same Tony Stewart that most people love.

Raj Nair, Executive Vice President of Global Product Development and Chief Technology Officer for Ford Motor Co., was part of a press conference today at Daytona International Speedway that also featured owners Roger Penske, Jack Roush and Tony Stewart. A transcript of that session follows:

Team Penske announced today a multi-year extension with sponsor Shell/Pennzoil, driver Joey Logano and crew chief Todd Gordon through the 2022 season and beyond. Car owner Roger Penske and Logano were part of a press conference announcing the extensions. Below are excerpts from that event.

Team Penske announced today that the organization has reached an agreement with 26-year-old Joey Logano to drive for the team through the 2022 season and beyond. The multi-year extension ensures that the 2015 Daytona 500 Champion and 17-time Monster Energy Series NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) winner will continue to be an integral part of the Team Penske organization.
