Matt Kenseth (second) was the top-finishing Toyota driver in Sunday’s rain-postponed NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

CONCORD, N.C. -- What had been a great day in the Queen City for both Austin Dillon and Chase Elliott turned south in a flash in a multi-car wreck in a late-race restart.

Recap: Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Wurth Ford Fusion team enjoyed a solid start to the second round of the NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup with a seventh-place finish in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) on Sunday afternoon.

Greg Biffle started the rain delayed race at Charlotte Motor Speedway from the 14th position. Biffle cracked the top five just before having to visit pit road under green for a flat tire. Just as Biffle was working some pit strategy to rebound from the flat tire, he was collected on a jumbled restart. The damage was too severe to repair leaving Biffle with a 35th-place finish in his No. 16 Ford EcoBoost Ford.

After Hurricane Matthew pushed the scheduled Saturday night race to Sunday, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove his SunnyD Ford to a 20th-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway; gaining two positions in the driver point standings.

Six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) champion, Jimmie Johnson and his No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS team had to wait 24 races to reach victory lane again after a strong start to the 2016 season, but it couldn’t have come at a better time. Johnson’s 78th career NSCS win and eighth victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway enabled him to punch his ticket to the Round of 8 in the Chase for the NSCS title.

CONCORD, N.C. -- The longest winless drought of Jimmie Johnson's career came to an end today with a dominant victory in the Queen City. The victory secures Johnson's spot in the Round of 8 in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.

Ryan Blaney and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team were well on their way to a possible top-10 finish when they were involved in a wreck with fewer than 100 laps remaining in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, resulting in a 31st-place finish.
