Tony Stewart posted the fastest time in second Sprint Cup Series practice at Michigan International Speedway.

Six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Jimmie Johnson, piloted his No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS to the outside pole position for Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race with a quick time of 35.728 seconds/201.523 mph. The run marks Johnson’s 10th top 10 start of the season and his 20th top 10 start at Michigan International Speedway.

JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion – Qualified 1st “I was surprised after the first couple of rounds when we weren’t as fast as the last time we were here. We were eighth going into the final round but great adjustments to find a little bit more speed out of this thing."

Joey Logano will lead the field to the green flag on Sunday in the Irish Hills of Michigan. The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford scored the pole for the Pure Michigan 400 after posting a time of 35.697 and a speed of 201.698 mph.
