During the 1970s, epic on-track battles were status quo for NASCAR Hall of Famers David Pearson and Richard Petty; however, it was the three-time champion Pearson who owned the deed to Charlotte Motor Speedway in that decade.

Richard Petty Motorsports and the U.S. Air Force are once again partnering for NASCAR's 600 Miles of Remembrance program on Memorial Day weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Aric Almirola, driver of the No. 43 Air Force Ford, will race in memory of fallen U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Forrest B. Sibley with his name featured on the windshield header.

This year's race at the Coca-Cola 600 will be particularly special for Brian Scott and the No. 44 Twisted Tea team, as Scott will honor a close friend from Idaho on his Ford Fusion as part of NASCAR's 600 Miles of Remembrance.

Continuing the sport’s long-standing tradition of honoring the United States Armed Forces, all 40 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers will bear the name of a fallen service member on their race car windshields during Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (6 p.m. ET on FOX, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), NASCAR announced today.

Joey Logano will return home tonight a $1 million richer after winning in the Queen City. The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford out-dueled Kyle Larson in the final 13 laps to win the Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
