NASCAR Cup Series

It may be an off-weekend for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, but for Chris Buescher, driver of the No. 34 Ford Fusion for Front Row Motorsports, it is a special one as he pays tribute to his dad for Father’s Day.

NASCAR spotters work high atop the speedway, out of television camera range and above the throngs of fans. Although they work in virtual obscurity, spotters are a key part of any racing team. They are the eyes of their drivers.

Michigan brought us tremendous action. I mean, how could it not? Brad Keselowski tested the new aero package and he was excited about it. In the end, even ole Brad led 10 laps, as did Martin Truex Jr. Chase Elliott led 35, while of the other 145 circuits, 138 of them saw Keselowski’s teammate, Joey Logano, on point.

After qualifying third for Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400, Stewart ran in the top-five for most of the race. He never led a lap, but he was keeping pace with polesitter and race winner Joey Logano.

After being beaten in the XFINITY Series race the day before on the final lap, Kyle Busch's run of poor finishes continued today in the Irish Hills as his engine let go and caught fire early in the race.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn't have the best of days in the Irish Hills after a wreck in the early stages of today's race. Rounding Turn 2, the driver of the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet threaded the needle of AJ Allmendinger and Chris Buescher. Buescher got loose and clipped the left-rear corner of Earnhardt. This got Earnhardt loose and sent him up into the left-front of Allmendinger.

Despite earning his career-best finish today in the Irish Hills, Chase Elliott was not surprisingly dejected at coming up short once again.

Michigan International Speedway is quickly becoming Joey Logano’s favorite track. He used numerous flawless restarts to win the FireKeepers Casino 400 on Sunday.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, improved five positions on the final restart of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday afternoon to earn a 15th-place finish.

Michigan International Speedway is Greg Biffle’s favorite track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit. Biffle leads the way at the 2.0-mile track with four wins, but unfortunately wasn’t able to add another to his tally. Biffle started the race 18th and made gains early on only to get trapped a lap down through an untimely caution during green flag stops. After taking the wave around the No. 16 Ford EcoBoost Ford became loose in traffic leaving Biffle with a 19th-place finish.
