The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Camping World Truck Series will compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. The XFINITY Series is off. Please check below for the complete schedule of events.

It's no secret that Kasey Kahne has struggled to contend for wins in the past three seasons. In his last 84 starts, Kahne has just one win, eight top five finishes and an average finish of 17.3. Those certainly doesn't sound like the numbers of a Hendrick Motorsports driver.

The No. 43 Smithfield Ford team will race in Friday night's Sprint Showdown for a chance to compete in the All-Star Race the following night.

NASCAR heads home to Charlotte for the next two weeks, in a double header that comprises of the All-Star Race this Saturday night, and the longest race of the season, the Coca-Cola 600 next weekend. In Brian Scott's rookie year in the Sprint Cup Series, he is not yet eligible for the All-Star Race but will be looking to race his way in at the Sprint Showdown on Friday night.

Finishing top-20 in a grueling race at the Monster Mile on Sunday apparently was not enough for Landon Cassill. The driver of the No. 38 MDS Transport Ford for Front Row Motorsports, along with fellow competitors Jimmie Johnson and Josh Wise, took to another track on Monday, participating in a 102.7-mile bike race.

This year the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race has been revamped to create an atmosphere that will promote more competitive racing as the drivers battle for a $1 million prize. The All-Star event will be held on May 21 at 9 p.m. ET at Charlotte Motor Speedway and will consist of three segments for a total of 113 laps.

ALL-STAR PAINT SCHEME FOR AN ALL-STAR WEEKEND: Kasey Kahne will drive the No. 5 Hendrick Automotive Group and Quicken Loans Drive Home a Winner Sweepstakes Chevrolet SS for this weekend’s All-Star Race. It marks the first and only time this season that Kahne will pilot that particular paint scheme.

Bayne previously raced in the Sprint All-Star race in 2012, starting from the 11th position and finishing 15th.

The driver of the No. 17 Ford will try to race his way in to Saturday night’s All-Star race this Friday night in the Sprint Showdown. If he doesn’t race his way in, then he will rely on the fan vote to get in to the All-Star race.

Greg Biffle dominated the first 20-lap segment of the Showdown in his No. 16 Ford, leading all 20 laps to advance to the Sprint All-Star race. With his advancement Biffle made his 12th consecutive appearance in the All-Star race and continued Roush Fenway’s 26-year streak of having at least one car in the event.
