Stewart-Haas Racing has named Brian Vickers interim driver of its No. 14 Chevrolet SS for all the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events during Speedweeks Feb. 12-21 at Daytona International Speedway.

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion and defending Daytona 500 winner, met with media Friday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway ahead of practice for Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Unlimited event.

Daytona Speedweeks got started in earnest Friday afternoon with a pair of Sprint Unlimited race practice sessions. Prior to cars hitting the track, Eddie, Len and Jon Wood of Wood Brothers Racing met with media members to discuss the upcoming 2016 season in which they will race full time, and address the team not receiving one of 36 NASCAR charters for the year.

HScott Motorsports announced today that it has reached agreement with Premium Motorsports for use of its Charter in 2016 to run the No. 46 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet driven by Michael Annett. This agreement has been accepted and approved by NASCAR.

One of the largest and fastest growing credit card issuers in the United States, Credit One Bank has entered into a multi-year partnership with NASCAR to include official agreements with both the sanctioning body and one of the most successful teams in auto-racing, Chip Ganassi Racing. The collaborations designate Credit One Bank as the “Official Credit Card of NASCAR,” in addition to being a partner of Chip Ganassi Racing.

NASCAR driver and team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced today that one of his digital properties, Dirty Mo Radio, will launch its fourth season this week and debut a line-up that includes eight programs, four of which are brand new.

WWE Superstar and actor John Cena will serve as the Honorary Pace Car Driver for the 58th annual DAYTONA 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. at Daytona International Speedway (TV – FOX, FOX Deportes; Radio – MRN Radio, SiriusXM). Cena will pace the 43-car field to the green flag in a Toyota Camry.

Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) heads to the 58th Annual Daytona 500 with the best foundation in recent years. During the off-season, the team expanded their staff, including multiple engineers and chassis designers, added new partners and a new driver, renewed or expanded business with all of its current partners, returned to its roots with a historic Petty family number and continued to grow their abilities building a race car. This growth puts RPM on their best footing leading into the start of the 2016 season.

75 Laps of Unlimited Racing: Once again, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season starts off with the Sprint Unlimited, which features 25 drivers racing 75 laps for the checkered flag. The non-points event features pole winners from last season, former Unlimited winners, former Daytona 500 pole winners, drivers who made the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup last season and then the highest drivers in points not falling into one of the previous categories.
