I thought we were going to have a shot at the win there and they were jacking up the restart real bad to let each other in as teammates which is fine and I probably went in there and I got on the other side of Joey (Logano) and I was going to try to race him for the win and Brad (Keselowski) wiped me out for some reason."

Goody’s® and spokesperson Dale Earnhardt Jr. launched “Ride with Dale Jr.” today, a new contest that offers fans the chance to win a special ride along with Dale in the Goody’s No. 88 car along with VIP tickets to watch him drive the Goody’s car in 2016. The contest was announced at the Goody's® Headache Relief Shot® 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell presented Jeff Gordon with the H. Clay Earles Award.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the fastest in the second practice session with a time of 19.522 and a speed of 96.998 mph. Martin Truex Jr. was second with a time of 19.546 and a speed of 96.879 mph.

Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Alliance Truck Parts Ford Fusion, was third in Happy Hour practice and will start 11th in tomorrow’s Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500.

Joey Logano was the fastest in the first practice session with a time of 19.161 and a speed of 98.826 mph. Jeff Gordon was second with a time of 19.251 and a speed of 98.364 mph.

Martin Truex Jr. put the No. 78 Furniture Row/Visser Precision Chevrolet SS on the front row and thus, put himself in good position for Sunday’s Goody’s Headache Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. The lap of 19.227 seconds/98.548 mph gives Truex, Jr. a front row start in the first race of the Eliminator Round in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. It bests the Chase contender’s third place qualifying effort at the 0.526-mile short track in the spring, and marks his career best starting spot at the paper-clipped shaped venue.

MARTIN TRUEX JR., NO. 78 FURNITURE ROW/VISSER PRECISION CHEVROLET SS - Qualified 2nd: "A good pit stall is really important here, obviously. We qualified third here in the spring. Honestly I didn't know we had a car that was that fast today. We stuck with it. The guys did a good job making adjustments there, and we got quicker each round. That's what you've got to do. It's a good starting spot for tomorrow and we'll see what we can do with it. We're looking forward to it."
