EARNHARDT AT WATKINS GLEN: In 15 Sprint Cup starts at Watkins Glen International, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has posted six top-15 finishes and completed 92.7 percent of the laps he has attempted (1,255 laps of 1,354 total). He scored a career-best third-place finish at the road course in 2003.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Trevor Bayne attended several events in Detroit on Tuesday to promote the Aug. 16 Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Chip Ganassi Racing Teams (CGRT) announced today a partnership with Procter & Gamble and their brand Crest, a trusted leader in oral health care. Crest will partner with 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Rookie of the Year Kyle Larson on the No. 42 HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi Chevrolet Camaro for two NASCAR XFINITY Series races at Watkins Glen International (WGI) on Saturday, Aug. 8 and in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 21.

Attack the track: “You can really attack the racetrack Turn 1 up through the Esses into the bus stop and it’s a real high speed place where you can be more aggressive and find lap time, whereas, Sonoma Raceway is a place where if you get more aggressive, you can easily burn the tires off and lose lap time," Allmendinger said. "I've always enjoyed Watkins Glen International for that reason. Watkins Glen is a fine line when it comes to car setup. You’ve got to get the car turning.”

When the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series holds its second and final road course race of the season this weekend at Watkins Glen (N.Y) International, No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine driver David Ragan hopes his Toyota will be as fast in New York as it was in California in June.

He’s a kid from Emporia, Kan., who grew up racing motorcycles and sliding around dirt tracks. So it’s somewhat interesting that road course racing has proven to be one of Clint Bowyer’s strong suits since joining the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Stenhouse has two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Watkins Glen with an average starting position of 27.0 and average finishing position of 19.0.

Watkins Glen International has been one of the most anticipated races of the season for Sam Hornish Jr. The 2.45-mile road course is a favorite stop on the Sprint Cup Series schedule for Hornish, not only because of his success there, but because of the tracks storied motorsports history.

Still in the hunt for a spot in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Aric Almirola picked up five points on the transfer spot and needs to make up 25 points in the next five races. Earlier this year, Almirola scored his best Sprint Cup Series road course finish of 14th at Sonoma Raceway. As he continues to get comfortable road course racing, Almirola hopes to score another Top-15 finish at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International in the No. 43 Smithfield Ford.

Richard Childress Racing at "The Glen" ... In 62 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at Watkins Glen International, RCR boasts two wins (Robby Gordon 2003 and Kevin Harvick 2006), eight top-five and 21 top-10 finishes. Dale Earnhardt won three poles (1990, '92, '96) at the high-speed, seven-turn, upstate New York facility.
