BUSCH BATTLING BACK: Camry driver Kyle Busch recorded his third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) victory in the last four races with a win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. After going a lap down early in the event, Busch battled back and led 96 laps (of 301) to take the checkered flag. With his victory, the Toyota driver now sits just 58 points shy of 30th place in the NSCS point standings, where he must reach to compete for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship in seven more races. Busch missed the first 11 events of the NSCS season while recovery from injuries sustained in an accident during a NASCAR XFINTY Series (NXS) race in February and returned to competition in May.

Stenhouse has two Sprint Cup starts at IMS with an average starting position of 23.0 and average finishing position of 24.5.

From my eyes, it appeared that the racing at Kentucky was better than the previous races at the Sparta, Kentucky track. The statistics bear that out and the eye test was overwhelmingly positive. Drivers loved it and all the slipping and sliding was entertaining to most fans.

BACK HOME AGAIN IN INDIANA: While Kasey Kahne originates from Enumclaw, Washington, he spent three years living in Indiana after high school. During that time Kahne had a shop in Brownsburg, Indiana, where he serviced his sprint and midget-car teams.

Native Hoosier and veteran Chevrolet driver, Jeff Gordon proudly holds the honor as the all-time winner at the 2.5-mile track. Gordon has ‘kissed the bricks’ five times in his illustrious NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career.

Country music sensation Kellie Pickler will sing the national anthem during pre-race ceremonies at the 22nd annual Crown Royal Presents the Jeff Kyle 400 at the Brickyard NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, July 26, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Richard Childress Racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway ... In 21 previous NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Richard Childress Racing has posted two pole awards (Kevin Harvick in 2003 and Jeff Burton in 2006), three wins (Dale Earnhardt in 1995, Harvick in 2003 and Paul Menard in 2011), 11 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes in 57 starts. RCR Chevrolets have also been atop the leaderboard for a total of 268 laps and, with the exception of one, each entry has been running at the finish of every Brickyard 400 since the inaugural race in 1994.

Bayne will make his fifth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a track steeped in tradition. The track officially opened in June 1909 with balloon races followed by motorcycle and automobile races later that year. A stamp cost two cents, a gallon of gas six cents and Yale University was the NCAA champion in football at that time.
