A late race pit stops for tires led to a mad dash to the finish of the 110-lap Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway, the 16th race of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Chevrolet’s Kurt Busch came within 0.532 seconds of earning his third victory of the season in his No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS. Busch pitted for fresh tires on the final pit stop with 11 laps remaining. Restarting ninth, Busch did everything he could to catch his younger brother Kyle (Busch) for the win, but ended the day in the runner-up spot. Busch led 43 laps en route to his second-place effort. It is his seventh top-10 finish in 15 races at Sonoma and eighth top 10 finish of the season.

In only his third career Sprint Cup start at the 1.99-mile 11-turn road course, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove his Fastenal Ford to a 20th-place finish in today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Sonoma Raceway.

A flat right-front tire foiled Biffle’s chances at a top-10 finish at Sonoma. Biffle started 22nd and was looking at a solid finish as different pit strategies unfolded over the 110-lap race.

“I really learned a lot throughout the course of the race,” said Bayne after the race. “For this being my first time here, I’m very happy about keeping all four tires on the track throughout the day and bringing this AdvoCare Ford home in one piece.

Martin Truex Jr. took a hard hit, which ended his day prematurely with a 42nd-place finish in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

Camry driver Kyle Busch won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race of the season on Sunday at Sonoma Raceway – his first win since returning from leg injuries at Daytona (February) that sidelined him for three months.

I just passed Sam Hornish up in seven and went through the esses and I just told Donnie, ‘I think I’ve got a left-front going down. It’s soft.’ We were gonna come in and pit that lap and I eased up a little bit going through 10, but it never turned and once you get off in the dirt there that’s a bad place to get off. It was a big hit, but I’m OK. I’m just bummed out for the situation. This is a great race track. We really love racing out here and I’ve had some great finishes here, but we’ll have to wait until next year to try again.”

AJ Allmendinger piloted the No. 47 Kingsford Charcoal Chevrolet SS to the number one starting spot in Saturday’s qualifying session for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway. Allmendinger set a quick time of 74.385 seconds/96.310 mph to earn his third career Cup Series pole. This is his first pole in seven races at the 1.99-mile road course; his previous best start was second last year. The run also marks the third consecutive pole win for Chevrolet at Sonoma.
