John Hunter Nemechek started Sunday's race at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the 18th position following a random draw to determine the starting lineup. Shortly after the green flag, a weather delay (lightning) came that lasted a little over two hours.

After earning a crucial stage point in the first stage of racing Sunday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Chris Buescher and the No. 17 Fastenal team battled a tight handling car to a 23rd place finish at the 1.5 mile track.

In a race that featured multiple red flags for inclement weather, Ryan Newman was unable to overcome a mountain obstacles — including multiple on-track incidents and a late speeding penalty — driving his Oscar Mayer Ford to a 30th- place finish Sunday afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
