News and notes: After a long and rainy weekend in Indianapolis, Boyd and team will have a quick turnaround as they shift their focus to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the running of the DC Solar 300. Crew chief Jason Miller will be back on top of the box this weekend for Boyd after serving his three week suspension. This will be Boyd's second trip to sin city. “I am beyond ready to get back on track,” says Boyd. "The last few weeks have been a rough stretch for our team and Vegas is the perfect place to get back to what we know we're capable of. I am thankful for all the support everyone has shown us during this bit of a slump, so I'm definitely ready to give everyone something to cheer about this weekend."

Roush Fenway heads to one of its most storied tracks on the circuit this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a place where Jack Roush has seen 16 victories. In Xfinity and Cup action alone, RFR has 40 top-five and 76 top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile oval.

Ryan Reed has five starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS); his best result came in 2017 where he qualified 10th and finished ninth.

Camry driver Christopher Bell (seventh) was the highest-finishing Toyota driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, scoring his 15th top-10 finish this season.

Justin Allgaier took the checkered flag Monday in the rain-delayed NASCAR XFINITY Series event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, his fifth win of 2018. Allgaier took the checkered 0.092 seconds ahead of Tyler Reddick and Ryan Blaney, with Chase Elliott in fourth and Daniel Hemric in fifth. Sixth through 10th was Matt Tifft, Christopher Bell, Austin Dillon, Chase Briscoe, and Brandon Jones.

AUSTIN CINDRIC, No. 12 Wabash National Ford Mustang – “It sucks. It’s frustrating, surprising, irritating, but at the end of the day it’s racing and it’s what you’ve got to go through. It obviously makes Vegas a much more important race now, which all I wanted to do this weekend was to prevent that, and I’m not sure there’s much there we could do to prevent that. I just wish it could turn out better. I think we had a car capable of winning the race. I’ve had a lot of cars capable of winning races, and that’s all I can ask for and whether circumstances aren’t in my control it is what it is, so we’ll move on and get over it.”
