JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Snap-On Ford Mustang – PRESS CONFERENCE – WHAT’S THE STORY ABOUT NOT BEING IN THE 22 THIS YEAR? “I drive the car they tell me to drive (laughing). I don’t know, we wanted to switch and see what was going on, so we switched. The thing is I didn’t really switch because Wilson was the crew chief last year when we won, so I was like, ‘OK, let’s switch. We’re on the same team.’ I don’t know. We just did, but it was a good car. They both were good cars. They’re both great teams. The pit crew on both cars are Cup teams when we come to the road course here with the pit stops backwards, so we do that to get some experience for our guys, but, really, I guess probably the advantage is to the 12 because they don’t race for stages and we’ve got to race for stage points, so it was probably maybe a little advantage there. It comes down to the end of it like the last few years it seems like it’s the two of us battling it out like crazy. I was working as hard as I can there. It was a fun battle. These XFINITY cars have a really good package around this race track for some racing because there’s just enough draft to keep the leader from pulling away.”

Joey Logano drove his No. 22 Penske Ford to Victory Lane Saturday at Watkins Glen in the Xfinity Series Zippo 200. This marked Logano’s 30th win in the series and his second Xfinity win this year.

CHRISTOPHER BELL, No. 20 Rheem Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - Will you be content to run another year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Joe Gibbs Racing? “Yeah, absolutely. I love racing in the Xfinity Series and it’s a great place for me to get seat time, and compete with some of the best drivers in the world. If the opportunity comes to go Cup Series racing, if it was allowed, I’d prefer to run both full-time Cup and Xfinity Series. I’m going to be excited either way and as of right now, it looks like I am going to be running the Xfinity Series. I am super excited about that. I have a great crew chief and a great team here at Joe Gibbs Racing. The No. 20 group does a great job.”

What started as a text message from JD Motorsports team owner Johnny Davis to team employee Alex Tauras has now become a hero card drive extending across the motorsports world, centered around an eight-year-old fan with a terminal illness.

Truex the Road Course Ace… 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) champion Martin Truex Jr. has become quite the road course ace over the last two seasons. Truex captured his first win at Watkins Glen International in 2017 and followed it with another victory at Sonoma Raceway earlier this year after also winning in a Toyota at the track in 2013. Now two for two on road courses in one year’s time, the defending Cup Series champion returns to Watkins Glen where it all started. In 12 career-series starts at The Glen, Truex has one win and four top-five finishes, finishing outside the top-25 only twice. With a win this weekend, Truex would be the first driver since Toyota teammate Kyle Busch (2008) to claim victory at both Sonoma and Watkins Glen in the same season.

News and notes: After recording his sixth top 25 finish in the last seven races, Boyd is preparing to head North for the Zippo 200 at The Glen, which will be the first of four road course races scheduled for the Xfinity Series. "Let's just say I've been on the simulator non stop the last several days," says Boyd. "The simulator is a great tool to really learn the track, practice shifting, and getting familiar with my braking patterns. I really don't know what to expect, especially with the weather being a threat for this weekend as well. We're just going to go out there, try to stay on the pavement, and learn as much as we possibly can."

“This weekend is going to give us a good idea of what our road-course package is going to be like for this year. We’ve had some good runs in the past, but we need to step up our road course game. We’re only a few races away from the playoffs and we want to win the regular season championship for a second year in a row –those playoff points are key. Hopefully we can keep our Textron Off Road Wildcat XX Chevrolet out of trouble and get ourselves another solid finish.” –Elliott Sadler

Cindric on Watkins Glen “Road racing provides a certain comfort for me and can be an unknown for many of my competitors. I really like racing at Watkins Glen and it will be an added challenge with all the Cup drivers that will be racing on Saturday this weekend. For us there is a lot of emphasis on this weekend. It’s an opportunity for us to shine and break the curse. The No. 60 has definitely had a rough stretch and a lot of hard work has been put into this weekend and hopefully that will come to fruition.”

Ryan Reed has competed at Watkins Glen International (WGI) four times in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Three of those four finishes are 15th or better, including a top-10 finish in 2016.

Richard Childress Racing at "The Glen" ... In 71 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Watkins Glen International, RCR boasts two wins (Robby Gordon 2003 and Kevin Harvick 2006), eight top-five and 21 top-10 finishes. Dale Earnhardt won three poles (1990, '92, '96) at the high-speed, seven-turn, upstate New York facility.
