Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) announced today that Justin Marks will return to pilot to the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro SS in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) road-course races at Mid-Ohio (Aug. 12), Road America (Aug. 26) and the newest road-course on the series’ schedule, Charlotte Motor Speedway (Sep. 29). Chevrolet Accessories, will serve as a primary sponsor for all three races.

Briscoe on Mid-Ohio “Mid-Ohio, at the beginning of the year, wasn’t one I was looking forward to, truthfully, but Ford has had me running a lot of road course stuff this year and I feel way more confident and actually really excited to go there. Of all the road course tracks I’ve been to this year Mid-Ohio is where I felt the most comfortable and probably had the most speed. I don’t think I’m going to be the fastest guy there, but I do feel like I’ll be much more competitive than I anticipated at the beginning of the year.”

Reed on Mid-Ohio “We’ve been really good at Mid-Ohio and have had some speed when it rained a few years ago, and also when it’s been dry. We’ve had some good qualifying results too. Taking care of our race car will be the biggest thing."

“I am really excited about racing at Mid-Ohio this weekend and to be back with my GMS Racing team. Last year my day ended early after getting caught up in a wreck on lap 51 so hopefully we will have some better luck this year. This Xfinity team had a strong showing at Watkins Glen last weekend with AJ (Almendinger). It would be great if we can collect another great road-course finish and continue to prove that we are capable of running up front with the big teams."

Michigan International Speedway serves as ‘home’ for Jack Roush and Roush Fenway Racing, located just an hour from Roush Industries in Livonia, Michigan. MIS has naturally been one of the organization’s most successful tracks on the circuit, with the team earning a total of 23 wins across NASCAR’s three major touring series.

The Buckeye State will have plenty of representation when the green flag falls on Rock N Roll Tequila 170 Presented by Amethyst Beverage on Saturday, August 11, at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

NASCAR issued the following statement Monday afternoon: “Brian France has taken an indefinite leave of absence from NASCAR as chairman and chief executive officer. Effective immediately, NASCAR Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President Jim France has assumed the role of interim chairman and chief executive officer.”

Joey Logano started from the pole in Saturday’s Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International, his fourth consecutive pole position at the 2.450-mile road course. Logano maintained the lead throughout the first stage, claiming a valuable playoff point for the No. 22 Snap-on Tools Mustang team.

Austin Cindric battled back from the rear and overcame an up-and-down day at Watkins Glen International, crossing the line 13th in his LTi Printing Ford Mustang Saturday afternoon.
