COLE CUSTER, No. 00 Haas Automation Ford Mustang (Finished 26th) - YOU GOT MAJOR DAMAGE ON LAP ONE AND SOMEHOW WERE ABLE TO PILOT THIS THING THROUGH THE WHOLE RACE: “Yeah, I have no idea what happened. It seemed like I kind of got loose before everyone started wrecking. I don't know if something was wrong with the track or something. We all wrecked on lap one and that kind of sunk our boat. We fixed the car and muscled it out but it is what it is. We will have to go try to win at Texas and Phoenix.”

CHRISTOPHER BELL, No. 20 Rheem Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - How do you feel about your chances with a number of 1.5-mile tracks coming up on the schedule? “For myself, I love 1.5-mile (tracks). It’s my favorite style of racing and my favorite race tracks too. I’m excited about it.”

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series will be in action at Kansas Speedway while the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is off. The Monster Energy Series heads to the final race of the Round of 12 in the NASCAR Playoffs, while the Xfinity Series enters the first race in the Round of 8.

News and notes:  After a much needed off weekend Spencer Boyd and his Grunt Style Chevrolet Camaro Team will resume racing action this weekend at Kansas Speedway. Growing up in St. Louis, MO, Kansas will be a home coming race for Boyd. “I really enjoyed a bit of downtime this past weekend, but I'm ready to be back at the race track,” says Boyd. “Since the Xfinity Series doesn't go to Gateway, Kansas is sort of considered my home track. We're going to have a lot of family, friends, and sponsors out at the track this weekend. Some might say it's more pressure, but for me it just gives me more motivation to go out there and have a good showing for everyone that supports us."

The No. 5 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet Camaro from JR Motorsports and driven by Michael Annett will incorporate America's stars and stripes in its livery during NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 3, ISM Raceway on Saturday, Nov. 10 and Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 17 in honor of Veterans Day.

“It will be nice to go to a track that I have been to before, obviously that shortens the learning curve since practice is limited in the Xfinity Series. We will have two 50-minute practice sessions so it will be very crucial to get up to speed and get to work on our No. 60 Ford. With my past experience at Kansas, hopefully we can capitalize this weekend and have a strong run in our No. 60 Ford.”

“A strong start to the Round of 8 this weekend in Kansas is going to be key to moving forward. With the Nos. 7 and 20 having a strong playoff points lead, we’ve got to get top fives and hopefully a win this round. I know we have the speed and the resources to make that happen, we just need to make sure we’re there at the finish. Kevin (Meendering, crew chief) and my guys have worked hard all season long. Gallagher and the No. 23 team will utilize chassis no. 221. This chassis has been raced three times this year at Charlotte Motor Speedway by Chase Elliott (start: 6th/finish: 37th), at Chicagoland Speedway by Chase Elliott (start: 9th/finish: 10th) and at Las Vegas Motor Speedway by Spencer Gallagher (start: 14th/finish: 10th).

Ryan Reed will make his fifth NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Kansas Speedway this weekend. In his four previous starts at the 1.5-mile track, Reed’s best finish of 10th came in 2017.
