On the heels of his first top-five finish of the year last weekend at Michigan International Speedway, Joe Graf Jr. (@joegrafjr) and his Chad Bryant Racing (CBR) team trek to Madison (Wisc.) International Speedway for some good ole’ short track racing in Friday night’s Shore Lunch 200.

Hailie Deegan (No. 55 iK9/Monster Energy Toyota) makes her third ARCA Menards Series start of the season coming off a slam-bang win in Saturday night’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Colorado National Speedway.

Last year, Christian Eckes (No. 15 JBL Audio Toyota) spent the second weekend of June racing, but it wasn’t in the ARCA Menards Series event at Madison International Speedway. Eckes made his NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series debut at Iowa Speedway that weekend, finishing eighth driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

The youth movement in motorsports can be traced back to the mid-1980s when a young – then 13-year-old – Jeff Gordon made a splash driving winged sprint cars. He found early success and made the transition to stock car racing at the end of the 1990 season, and when he started winning in what is how the NASCAR XFINITY Series in 1992 the die was cast and team owners have been forever looking for the next young superstar in the making.

Takuma Sato checked another box off his stellar open-wheel to-do list Friday when he qualified on-pole for the DXC Technology 600 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Michael Self (No. 25 Sinclair Lubricants Toyota) dominated the first 90 laps of the ARCA Menards Series VizCom 200 at Michigan International Speedway, but needed a last lap pass to score his third series win of the season. Self snuck past Ty Majeski (No. 22 Crestliner Boats Ford), who was attempting to run the final 50 laps of the race on one tank of fuel, in turn three of the final lap.

Michael Self (No. 25 Sinclair Lubricants Toyota) sped to his third General Tire Pole Award in his last four ARCA Menards Series starts for this evening’s VizCom 200 at Michigan International Speedway. Self’s fast lap of 37.296 seconds/193.050 miles per hour exceeded Joey Coulter’s track record set in 2012.

The ARCA Menards Series heads to Michigan International Speedway, its home superspeedway, for the 38th time in series history dating back to 1980. The track is located about 45 miles northwest of ARCA’s home offices in Temperance, Michigan.

The stock car racing industry has slowly centralized around the metro Charlotte, North Carolina area for the past quarter of a century, so it’s rare these days to see a top-level stock car team not based in that area. It’s even more rare to see a top-level team not based in that area succeed.

The ARCA Menards Series’ 20 races are held at 18 different race tracks, and with tracks ranging from 2.66 miles to 0.375 miles and two one-mile dirt tracks thrown in for good measure, it’s one of the most diverse schedules in all of motorsports.
