Racing in two USAC national events at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis on Saturday, July 27, provided Taylor Ferns a couple of benefits. First, it gave her double the amount of laps throughout the day and night at the 0.686-mile paved oval. And second, and more importantly, racing twice meant two opportunities to record solid finishes, which she did, coming home seventh with the Honda USAC National Midget Series and 10th with the Traxxas USAC Silver Crown Series.

Twice the Laps: Tracy Hines to Compete in Midget & Silver Crown Races at Belleville

While he hasn’t raced at the Belleville High Banks in Kansas, in five years, Tracy Hines has turned plenty of laps at the famed half-mile in his career. All of those laps though have come in a midget. He’ll look to use that experience this week as he not only competes in the historic Belleville Midget Nationals for the Honda USAC National Midget Series, but also in the inaugural Traxxas USAC Silver Crown Series event at the legendary high-banked, half-mile.
