Scott Steckly returned to a familiar place on Saturday night, Victory Lane at Autodrome St. Eustache after winning the National 250 presented by Public Mobile.

The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio will be the 29th Indy car race at Mid-hio Sports Car Course and the sixth IZOD IndyCar Series event. Scott Dixon is the defending race winner. Will Power won the pole in 2012.

Racing in two USAC national events at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis on Saturday, July 27, provided Taylor Ferns a couple of benefits. First, it gave her double the amount of laps throughout the day and night at the 0.686-mile paved oval. And second, and more importantly, racing twice meant two opportunities to record solid finishes, which she did, coming home seventh with the Honda USAC National Midget Series and 10th with the Traxxas USAC Silver Crown Series.

While he hasn’t raced at the Belleville High Banks in Kansas, in five years, Tracy Hines has turned plenty of laps at the famed half-mile in his career. All of those laps though have come in a midget. He’ll look to use that experience this week as he not only competes in the historic Belleville Midget Nationals for the Honda USAC National Midget Series, but also in the inaugural Traxxas USAC Silver Crown Series event at the legendary high-banked, half-mile.

In 2003, a 22-year-old Scott Dixon won three races and, despite five DNFs, earned his first IZOD IndyCar Series championship with Target Chip Ganassi Racing. Wiser and more experienced in 2008, Dixon again claimed the series title punctuated by his first Indianapolis 500 victory.

Tracy Hines really isn’t sure what has made him so successful at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis over the years, but he’s not going to argue. The native of New Castle, Ind., has amassed a total of 13 wins across the three USAC National Series at the paved oval located just outside of Indianapolis in Clermont, Ind., making him the winningest driver in USAC competition at the 0.686-mile paved oval.

INDYCAR announced today that all engines supplied to IZOD IndyCar Series teams will utilize only twin turbocharger systems beginning with the 2014 season.
