The OSCAAR Modifieds return to Delaware Speedway Friday night for their third career trip, marking a homecoming of sorts for a number of drivers. The 30-lap event will pit some former Delaware Speedway Modified regulars, and current FT Garage Late Model drivers, against a number of OSCAAR regulars. The competition will be fierce as a number of story lines are apparent heading in to the event.
Corey Jones, a veteran of the Lucas Oil Canadian Vintage Modified tour, is making the jump to an OSCAAR Super Late Model starting this season. Jones will leave the storied open-wheel tour at the conclusion of this year, but will run select events with OSCAAR through the end of 2013.
It takes a great amount of versatility to be a champion, especially when competing in the three USAC national divisions. Tracy Hines has shown this type of versatility time and time again, as is evident by his two-career USAC titles in two different divisions.
Returning to his home track at Delaware Speedway is always special for #17 Castrol Edge Dodge driver DJ Kennington. In front of plenty of family and friends once again Kennington showed his amazing consistency during round number two of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series securing another top five finish and with that Kennington takes over the top spot in the overall championship standings.
Sherwood Park, Alberta’s Noel Dowler and the #5 EMCO/Rheem Dodge team had a busy week prior to round number two of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this past weekend, the EMCO 200 at Delaware Speedway. In front of a large contingent of EMCO customers and staff Dowler chalked up another top ten finish after battling back from an early obstacle.
After a very successful 3rd place finish at the season opener 3 weeks ago at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Hathaway and his team were looking forward to getting started on the oval tracks on the schedule last night at Delaware Speedway. A flat tire however early in the 200 lap EMCO 200 took that away from the hard charging team.

Scott Steckly, driver of the # 22 Canadian Tire Dodge set a fast time during Saturday afternoons qualifying session, but the night ended early for the two- time champion when the rear end gear failed.
The 27-year-old Jones from Atlanta, Georgia, will rejoin Joe Gibbs Racing to pilot a Toyota Supra entry on a multiyear basis following a two-year campaign at JR Motorsports.
