Michigan International Speedway is waving the green flag this weekend, making a commitment with the help of Consumers Energy to match 100 percent of its electricity use with renewable energy.

Atlanta Motor Speedway has announced that the infield media center has been named in memory of Marcy Scott, the track’s late Director of Marketing & Promotion. The building will be known as the Marcy Scott Media Center.

The day does not end when the on-track activity concludes at Michigan International Speedway in August. Instead, the action moves to the Budweiser Party Porch in Turn Four where live music continues late into the night.

Michigan International Speedway is the fastest track in NASCAR based on the speeds on the racing surface. But during the Pure Michigan 400 Weekend the action off the track might be just as fast-paced.

Kevin Harvick, the winner of two NASCAR Sprint Cup races this season, has been added to the Green Flag Experience prior to the Goody’s® Headache Relief Shot® 500 at Martinsville Speedway on October 26.

Pure Michigan announced the results of the Pure Michigan 400 honorary starter contest today, naming Lowell Broesamle (pronounced bray-zum-lee) of Munith, Michigan as the 2014 Pure Michigan 400 honorary starter. Broesamle will wave the green flag at Michigan International Speedway on August 17.
