NASCAR Mandates ImPACT Baseline Concussion Testing

NASCAR announced today that beginning in 2014, the sanctioning body will mandate pre-season neurocognitive baseline testing as part of its comprehensive concussion prevention and management program for all of its national series drivers.

Brennan Newberry Looking Forward to Short Track Action and Career-Best Finish at Martinsville Speedway

With only four races remaining in the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season, the No. 24 Qore 24 team will unload at the .526-mile Martinsville (Va.) Speedway where Brennan Newberry will make his third-career start at the historical short track. Earlier this season for the second stop of the 2013 season, Newberry started the race 10th and finished 31st. His average start at the track is 14.5 and average finish is 29.5.

Speedway for a classic short-track showdown. Earlier this season for the second race of the year, Hornaday started the NCWTS event at Martinsville Speedway from the ninth position, led 21 laps and earned a 10th-place finish.

Miguel Paludo has five previous starts at the 0.526-mile paperclip-shaped track and has completed 100-percent of the 1,150 laps in those five events. Earlier this season, Paludo ran in the top 10 for nearly the entire event and occupied the top five for much of the second half of the race, but a wild final restart marred the Brazilian's stellar run, resulting in a 17th-place finish.

Homeward Bound...Following a wild race at Talladega, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will make its way to Martinsville Speedway for some short-track racing. A South Boston, Virginia native, Jeb Burton will hit the 0.526-mile track for the Kroger 200 on Saturday afternoon in the No. 4 Arrowhead/Kangaroo Express truck. In his last run at the paperclip-shaped track, Burton impressed all when he won the Keystone Light pole award, led the most laps and ended the day with a third-place finish.
