Canadian Tire Motorsport Park announced today that Chevrolet will be the title sponsor of the first Canadian race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, taking place on Labour Day Weekend, August 30 – September 1. The name of the race will be the Chevrolet Silverado 250.

NASCAR announced today penalties and fines to the No. 98 team that competes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, as a result of rule infractions at Kansas Speedway.

Todd Peck needs the NASCAR community's help to decide the design of his race helmet. At the beginning of the season, Peck asked kids with Juvenile Arthritis (JA) to send him their original artwork for his helmet. NASCAR announced today that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will implement the group-based road course qualifying procedure used in NASCAR Nationwide and NASCAR Touring Series competition during its road-course events at Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen International. Under the new procedure, cars will qualify in groups instead of the traditional single-car qualifying runs held on oval race tracks.

The SFP 250 race weekend proved eventful for 20 year old La Grange, MO native Justin Jennings, as he made his debut on NASCAR's mile and a half tracks in the LG Seeds / Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool Chevy Silverado.

Miguel Paludo's potentially race-winning run ended in the wall at Kansas Speedway. After starting on the front row and leading his first laps of the 2013 season, the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet was one of the trucks to beat before getting run into the wall on lap 35, ending Paludo's race in the garage and relegating him to a 31st-place finish in the SFP 250.

James Buescher came into the SFP 250 at Kansas Speedway as the defending race winner, and for a while, it looked like Buescher was going to repeat as race winner.

Dillon is fifth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver championship point standings, trailing leader Johnny Sauter by 39 markers, while Gaughan ranks seventh, 46 points back.
