The wait is finally over. After two weeks of excitement and buzz, the NASCAR Sprint Cup cars return to the track Friday for practice and qualifying for the STP® Gas Booster™ 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

For the first time this season, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series make a visit to Martinsville Speedway for the Sprint Cup Series’ sixth race of the year and the Camping World Truck Series’ second race of the year.

For veteran David Starr this weekend’s Kroger 250 at Martinsville could not come soon enough to erase the memories of a mechanical failure that dropped the No. 81 Toyota Tundra to a 31st place finish.

The #1 entry for the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway will be piloted by Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville Georgia. Advanced Electronic Services will be coming on board as the primary sponsor for the #1 Chevrolet. This will be the first time Jonathan will attempt a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.

The rolling hills of southern Virginia once again will gear up for the spring NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the historic Martinsville Speedway. This is where Tim George, Jr and Wauters Motorsports in the No. 5 Applebee’s Racing Ford F150 will try their hand on the .526-mile paperclip shaped track in hopes of their first victory Saturday, April 6, 2013.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick will look for back to back victories in the spring race at Martinsville Speedway when he climbs into the No. 24 Tide Chevrolet Silverado.

In 135 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at Martinsville Speedway, Richard Childress Racing has earned four pole awards and posted seven victories with drivers Dale Earnhardt (five times), Ricky Rudd (1983) and Kevin Harvick (2011). RCR Chevrolet teams have earned 27 top-five and 53 top-10 finishes at Martinsville dating back to the team's first start there on April 10, 1972.

Jeb Burton will make his second start for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) this Saturday afternoon at Martinsville Speedway in his home state of Virginia. The 20-year-old driver of the No. 4 Arrowhead machine will be returning to the track where he made his first ever NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start. One year ago, Burton started seventh and finished 13th at the famous half-mile short track. Coming off an impressive fifth-place finish in the 2013 NCWTS season opener at Daytona International Speedway, Burton has momentum on his side.
