Connor Mosack, Porter Pipe & Supply Join JR Motorsports in 2024

Mosack will pilot the No. 88 Chevrolet in two NXS events

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 2, 2024) – JR Motorsports announced today that Connor Mosack and primary partner Porter Pipe & Supply will join the team’s illustrious No. 88 driver lineup this season. Mosack will make his first appearance for JRM at the Chicago Street Race (July 6) and return to action again at the Charlotte Roval (Oct. 12).

Porter Pipe & Supply, a third-generation, family-owned and operated wholesale supplier of commercial and industrial pipe, valves, fittings, plumbing supplies, HVAC and refrigeration equipment and mechanical products, will serve as the primary partner for the No. 88 Chevrolet at the Chicago Street Race, a home event for the Addison, Ill. company.

“It’s great to be back with Porter Pipe & Supply and JRM for the Chicago Street Race,” Mosack said. “I ran last year’s inaugural Xfinity Series race in Chicago with Porter Pipe & Supply and they had a ton of people out at the race. They were all pumped. Unfortunately, weather kind of put a damper on things and cut the race short. We’re definitely looking forward to getting back to Chicago. We’ve got some unfinished business there.”

Today’s announcement marks a return for Mosack to JRM, as the young driver previously competed for the organization in 2020 in the zMAX Cars Tour. Mosack also becomes the 10th driver to make at least one start in both the CARS Tour and the NXS for JRM.

Mosack started driving at the age of 18 and collected multiple wins and championships. He was the Asphalt Nationals Semi-Pro Champion at the Bullring in Las Vegas and the Cook Out Winter Heat Pro Champion at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In 2020, Mosack finished sixth in the driver point standings and was named the Rookie of the Year while driving for JRM in the CARS Tour. The Charlotte native’s racing resume features experience in the NXS, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and ARCA Menards Series, where the driver collected his first victory last season at Kansas Speedway in September.

Mosack is no stranger to street courses. In addition to competing in last year’s Chicago Street Race, the 25-year-old racer has made two starts in the TA2 division of the Trans Am Series at the Music City Grand Prix in downtown Nashville. He started second and led nine laps before finishing third in the inaugural event in 2021. In his return to Nashville in 2022, Mosack qualified fourth and grabbed the lead on the opening lap. He proceeded to lead the 39-car field for 26 laps before finishing second.

See Mosack and the No. 88 Porter Pipe & Supply Chevrolet hit the track at the Chicago Street Race on Saturday, July 6 at 2:30 p.m. EST on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.

In that event, Berry started 29th and finished 25th.

● Berry took on the Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway concrete mile oval last Sunday for the third time in his Cup Series career. He qualified a career-best 12th and finished 14th and will arrive at Kansas second in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings, 13 points behind leader Carson Hocevar. Berry is 24th in the overall Cup Series standings.

● In his three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Kansas, the 33-year-old driver has a pair of top-10s in his most recent two starts with JR Motorsports. His drivers have an average starting position of 10.9 and an average finish of 13.9 with just two DNFs. Josh Berry, Driver of the No. 4 Overstock.com Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Kansas is a 1.5-mile track with multiple groves and a lot of opportunity to create speed. How beneficial is it to be able to change lanes and work your way through the field at 1.5-mile tracks when passing has been a challenge in the NextGen car?

“I think having those lane options helps the most when trying to find clean air. The NextGen car is really good in clean air, so being able to move around to find it will give the drivers the chance to race harder and make passes regardless of lane choice. I am looking forward to being able to be aggressive when I need to in order to gain track position.”

You had double-duty in last year’s May weekend at Kansas. How will just having to focus on the Cup Series race this weekend help you?

“I think in the back of my mind, it will be a little easier not having to think about the differences between the NextGen car and the Xfinity car. Ultimately how I prepare for each weekend is still the same – I have my process to get me comfortable and ready each week and that doesn’t change if I am running two races or just the Cup race like I am this weekend. The goal is always to go out there and maximize the day and try to compete for a win, and that is the same anytime I get behind the wheel of a racecar.”

Is there a track you’ve raced on in the Cup Series that is similar to how Kansas races? If so, what can you apply this weekend?

“I think Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway are most similar to how this weekend will be, as far as mile-and-a-halves go, but this one is unique just because of the lane options we get this weekend. Stewart-Haas Racing has had speed at those intermediate tracks and we are still working hard to learn and build our notebook at those tracks, so this weekend will be another chance for me to learn a lot and keep building on what I have already learned this season.”

What are the characteristics of a fast Ford Mustang Dark Horse that will help you be successful this weekend?

“For us on the No. 4 team, we really want to make sure the car has rear grip and stability across the whole run. Obviously, that changes from track to track as far as what we think we need, but when we work in the simulator and look at our data, our focus is on those two characteristics. All of us on the No. 4 team feel like if we can find that and hone in on that, we will have a competitive car that is capable of running up front.”

Justin Haley, Driver of the No. 51 Children’s Mercy Kansas City Ford Mustang Dark Horse

● Justin Haley, driver of the No. 51 Children’s Mercy Kansas City Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Rick Ware Racing (RWR), heads to Kansas Speedway in Kansas City for the first of two visits by the NASCAR Cup Series this season to the Heartland of America. Haley will make his seventh start at the 1.5-mile oval Sunday and looks to better his career-best Kansas finish of 18th, earned last May.

● While Haley his still looking for a top finish in the Cup Series at Kansas, the opposite is true of his time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In four Xfnity Series starts at the track, he’s finished no worse than seventh, including back-to-back fourth-place finishes in his most recent starts in 2020 and 2021.

● He also has top-10 finishes in both of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts at Kansas – ninth in 2017 and 10th in 2018 – and a sixth-place finish in his lone start there in the ARCA Menards Series.

● The Winamac, Indiana, native celebrated his 25th birthday last weekend at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway with his fifth top-25 finish of the year for RWR and second in the last three races.

● #HaleYES, there’s another video! The campaign rolls on as Haley sets off to save the puppies in his NASCAR Crocs – loaded down with Jibbitz.

Riley Herbst, Driver of the No. 15 Monster Energy Zero Sugar Ford Mustang Dark Horse

● Riley Herbst is back behind the wheel of the No. 15 Monster Energy Zero Sugar Ford Mustang Dark Horse for RWR for his first non-superspeedway Cup Series start.

● While the NASCAR Xfinity Series is on hiatus this weekend, the fulltime driver of the No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing will try his hand at an intermediate track in the NextGen car. The Las Vegas native has five Xfinity Series starts at Kansas with a best finish of ninth earned in July 2020. He also competed in two NASCAR CraftsmanTruck Series races, posting finishes of ninth in 2019 and 12th in 2022.

● In four ARCA Menards Series races at the 1.5-mile track, Herbst has two top-five finishes and three top-10s. He started from the pole in the July 2020 race and led 18 laps en route to a third-place result.

● Through the season’s first 10 Xfinity Series races, Herbst is sixth in the standings and has claimed two top-fives and three top-10s, including a fifth-place finish in March at his hometown Las Vegas Motor Speedway – the same 1.5-mile track where he earned his career-first victory last fall.

● Monster Energy Zero Sugar will adorn Herbst’s No. 15 Ford Mustang at Kansas. Based in Corona, California, Monster Energy is the leading marketer of energy drinks and alternative beverages. Refusing to acknowledge the traditional, the company supports the scene and sport. Monster Energy is a brand that believes in authenticity and the core of what its sports partnerships, athletes and musicians represent. More than a drink, it’s the way of life lived by athletes, sports, bands, believers and fans.

Rick Ware Racing Notes

● The Progressive American Flat Track (AFT) tour heads to Silver Dollar Short Track in Chico, California, for the inaugural Grand National Championship. AFT Singles rider Kody Kopp picked up a second-place result last weekend at the Texas Half-Mile in Fort Worth, his fourth podium finish in the first four events.

● Last weekend, NHRA Top Fuel driver Clay Millican competed in the Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, North Carolina. He set a new team speed record in the first round of eliminations and advanced to the final round, where he finished second while topping the team record once again.

● Rick Ware has been a motorsports mainstay for more than 40 years. It began at age six when the third-generation racer began his driving career and has since spanned four wheels and two wheels on both asphalt and dirt. Competing in the SCCA Trans Am Series and other road-racing divisions led Ware to NASCAR in the early 1980s, where he finished third in his NASCAR debut – the 1983 Warner W. Hodgdon 300 NASCAR Grand American race at Riverside (Calif.) International Raceway. More than a decade later, injuries would force Ware out of the driver seat and into fulltime team ownership. In 1995, Rick Ware Racing was formed, and with wife Lisa by his side, Ware has since built his eponymous organization into an entity that fields two fulltime entries in the NASCAR Cup Series while simultaneously campaigning successful teams in the Top Fuel class of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, the LMP3 class of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, Progressive American Flat Track and FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), where RWR won the 2022 SX2 championship with rider Shane McElrath.

Justin Haley, Driver Q&A

The Cup Series has a full slate of intermediate tracks coming up and there’s been steady improvement from RWR over the last month. How does that impact your outlook, not just for this weekend but for the next several weeks?

“I felt like we had a really good race at Dover, where we finally started to put the pieces together, like we’ve been talking about since Daytona. I think everyone had work to do with the track being so different from Saturday, and it took us a while to get there, but a 23rd-place finish was something that I left the track feeling good about. The few intermediate races we had earlier this year weren’t great by any means, but I think we did make improvement from Vegas to Texas and I do think that can continue. We’re all working with a lot of patience to get where we want to be and I feel good about where we are headed.”

What makes Kansas different from Las Vegas, Texas and the other intermediate-style tracks you visit?

“Each track kind of has its own characteristics. Like, Texas is a really rough track and Kansas just isn’t. No dips in the track, just a very smooth surface. You’ll probably see everyone running up high, so there’s always a chance you get just a little too close and get into the wall, but we’ll see a lot of single-file racing and I would think passing will be hard to do. So, most of the issues would probably come from people trying to pass and just not being able to make it work, especially if your car isn’t handling perfectly.”

Riley Herbst, Driver Q&A

Kansas will mark your first intermediate start in the NASCAR Cup Series after five superspeedway starts. What are you hoping to learn at a different style of track after some strong runs in your previous starts?

“Honestly, it’s good to get these starts at different styles of racetracks in order to prepare yourself for any type of racing, if and when you move up to the Cup Series. I think it gives you more experience to learn how to navigate different tracks in this car. Obviously, we’ve had some strong runs in my past starts and I’m hoping to see the same this weekend. Kansas is all about learning, though. I want to be able to learn how to navigate an intermediate track in a NextGen car to make myself a better driver overall. When you’re at this stage in your career, it’s all about gaining that knowledge and experience to help yourself in the long run. I’m thankful to Rick Ware Racing and Monster Energy for this opportunity.”

You’ve had strong runs at Kansas in the past in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Talk about your experience at the 1.5-mile oval.

“Kansas has been good to me in the past, for sure. But the Trucks and Xfinity cars are so different from the NextGen cars. Even though I’ve had strong runs, I’ve still found myself in some trouble just because of how the races play out. With it being an Xfinity off weekend, I’m excited to still get a chance to be racing and get the extra experience. When the Xfinity Series shows up here in the fall, it’ll be time to go playoff racing. We’re doing everything we can to make sure we’re part of that this year, so any track time is good to prepare for that. I’m hoping to take the opportunity to learn as much as I can for the future.”

Welcome To The Team: In February, Young’s Motorsports announced that Mason Massey will compete full-time in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series this season aboard the team’s flagship, No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado RST continuing with Saturday night’s Heart of America 200 at Kansas Speedway.

Massey arrived at Young’s Motorsports after running a limited NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule last season for SS-GreenLight Racing, including a top-10 performance at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The Douglasville, Ga. native started his 2023 Truck Series season with Reaume Brothers Racing and competed in seven races with a season-high 11th place finish at Texas Motor Speedway, but later shifted his presence to Xfinity for five races throughout the 33-race season.

About Mason: Massey has over 20 years of experience behind the wheel, launching his racing career at age five. Since then, he has garnered over 200 feature wins, 11 championships, and 10 track records across multiple series, including the U.S. Legends Pro National Championship.

Amongst the many Late Model victories to Massey’s credit during his tenure in the Bill Elliott Racing Development Program is the 2012 triumph in the Alabama 200. He eventually graduated to NASCAR in 2019, competing in the Truck Series before advancing to the Xfinity Series in 2020.

After part-time Xfinity stints in 2020 and 2021, respectively, the Georgian captured the attention of many with an impressive sixth-place finish in the spring 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series contest at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway in front of the hometown crowd.

With 39 more NASCAR starts to his resume since his first career NASCAR top-10 effort, Massey has landed with Young’s Motorsports, a longtime fixture in the Truck Series, hoping to impress and land the organization back in Victory Lane this season.

Kansas Native Mandy Chick Set to Return at Home Track

Discounted tickets available

DE SOTO, Kan. (05/02/24) – Mandy Chick will make her second ARCA Menards Series start of the year on Saturday at Kansas Speedway, the track where she has found the most consistent success in her young career.

The De Soto, Kansas, native grew up attending races at the fast 1.5-mile D-shaped oval and turned in finishes of 12th and ninth there last season.

Now she is looking for even more in her Chick Engineering No. 74 Chevrolet SS.

“Our team has worked hard on the car since our last Kansas race and I feel confident I can follow up our solid finishes last year with an even stronger finish this weekend,” said Chick, a 22-year-old mechanical engineering major at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology In Terre Haute, Indiana.

Chick, who just wrapped up her term as president of her Tri-Delta sorority chapter, kicked off her 2024 campaign with the ARCA season-opener at Daytona International Speedway in February. However, she never got a chance to show her car’s speed after being caught up in a multi-car crash on Lap 4 and another accident that ended her day several laps later.

With Daytona in the rearview mirror, she and her family-owned team are focused on the unique challenges presented by the Kansas track in Saturday’s Tide 150.

TEAM CHEVY NASCAR RACE ADVANCE: Kansas Speedway

TEAM CHEVY ADVANCE: KANSAS SPEEDWAY

Kansas City, Kansas
May 4-5, 2024

KICKING-OFF MAY IN THE MIDWEST

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) will take its turn to contest in a doubleheader weekend with the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) as both series will make their way to Kansas Speedway for the series’ first trip to the Midwest this season. The 1.5-mile Kansas oval will again hold two race weekends for the NCS and NCTS this season, with the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) joining in on the action as all three series will return to the track in September for a postseason tripleheader.

Chevrolet at Kansas Speedway

Chevrolet leads the NASCAR Cup Series in all-time victories at Kansas Speedway – owning victories in 13 of the series’ 36 events at the 1.5-mile track. The first of those victories came in the series’ debut at the track with NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon – marking his first of three career Kansas triumphs. Hendrick Motorsports is tied for the top spot as the winningest organization in series’ history at Kansas Speedway with eight triumphs – most recently with Kyle Larson in Oct. 2021 en route to his first championship title.

Chevrolet also earned the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory at Kansas Speedway with a win courtesy of Ricky Hendrick. In 27 NCTS races at the 1.5-mile track, Chevrolet has earned 10 victories – two of which came last season when Team Chevy’s Grant Enfinger and Christian Eckes drove the manufacturer to a sweep of the victories. A Chevrolet win in Saturday’s Heart of America 200 would tie Toyota for the series’ all-time win record at Kansas Speedway.

TWO-FOR-TWO

The NASCAR Cup Series has contested on two non-drafting 1.5-mile tracks thus far this season – both ending with a Chevrolet-powered machine in victory lane.

The first of those victories came in March at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with Kyle Larson and the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1 team. The victory came in near-dominating fashion by the 2021 series’ champion. Following a second-place qualifying effort, Larson went on to sweep both stage wins and lead a race-high 181 of 267 laps en route to the victory.

Chase Elliott kept Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports undefeated at 1.5-mile tracks this season with a victory at Texas Motor Speedway three weeks ago. The 28-year-old Dawsonville, Georgia, native drove his No. 9 Camaro ZL1 to top-10 finishes in both stages – outlasting a handful of late-race cautions to take the checkered-flag and snap a 42-race winless streak.

Next Gen Numbers on 1.5-Mile Tracks

Heading to the heartland for this weekend’s event, Chevrolet owns a winning percentage of 50 percent on non-drafting 1.5-mile tracks in the Next Gen era with eight victories in 16 races. Three of those victories were accompanied by a podium sweep by Team Chevy drivers – twice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Mar. 2022 and Mar. 2023), as well as a one-two-three-four finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Oct. 2022.

Chevrolet’s Next Gen Wins on Non-Drafting 1.5-Mile Tracks:

· Las Vegas Motor Speedway – Alex Bowman (Mar. 6, 2022)

· Texas Motor Speedway – Tyler Reddick (Sept. 25, 2022)

· Homestead-Miami Speedway – Kyle Larson (Oct. 23, 2022)

· Las Vegas Motor Speedway – William Byron (Mar. 5, 2023)

· Texas Motor Speedway – William Byron (Sept. 24, 2023)

· Las Vegas Motor Speedway – Kyle Larson (Oct. 15, 2023)

· Las Vegas Motor Speedway – Kyle Larson (Mar. 3, 2024)

· Texas Motor Speedway – Chase Elliott (Apr. 14, 2024)

CARRYING MOMENTUM IN THE NCTS

Coming off a two-week break, Chevrolet drivers and teams in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will return to competition this weekend for five-straight weeks of racing. The Bowtie brand is carrying the momentum of a near dominant season as the series nears the halfway point of its regular-season. With seven races complete, four different Team Chevy drivers have earned a combined six wins. In addition, the manufacturer has tallied a series-leading five pole wins – each recorded by a different Team Chevy driver – and accumulated 11 of 14 stage wins thus far this season. Among each of those victories, Chevrolet claimed at least 50 percent of the top-10 finishing positions, including a season-high seven top-10s on two different occasions (Daytona International Speedway and Martinsville Speedway).

Christian Eckes – the series’ most recent winner at Kansas Speedway – heads into the weekend atop the driver’s points standings with a two-point advantage over second-place Corey Heim. The 23-year-old New York native continues to be the only full-time NCTS contender that is a multi-time winner this season with two victories to his name. In the series’ two appearances on non-drafting 1.5-mile tracks this season, Eckes has driven his No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Silverado RST to a pair of top-10 finishes including a sixth-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and a fourth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway.

Looking Back at a Kansas Sweep

Team Chevy’s Grant Enfinger and Christian Eckes powered the Silverado RST to a sweep of the NCTS races at Kansas Speedway last season. Enfinger is the defending winner of the track’s spring date – with the triumph earning his playoff berth that ultimately led to a runner-up finish in the series’ final points standings. Returning to the 1.5-mile Kansas oval for the series’ Playoffs Round of 10 elimination race, Eckes took the lead on the final restart – leading just the final two circuits to steal the victory. Efinger and Eckes are two of just three former NCTS winners at Kansas Speedway entered for Saturday’s event.

BOWTIE BULLETS:

· With 28 races complete across NASCAR’s three national series this season, Chevrolet has a winning percentage of 60.7% with 17 victories (NASCAR Cup Series – six wins; NASCAR Xfinity Series – five wins; NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series – six wins).

· Active Chevrolet drivers with a NASCAR Cup Series win at Kansas Speedway:

Kyle Busch – two wins (2021, 2016)

Kyle Larson – one win (2021)

Chase Elliott – one win (2018)

· In 36 NASCAR Cup Series races at Kansas Speedway, Chevrolet leads all manufacturers with 13 victories and 13 poles.

· Chevrolet won the inaugural race at Kansas Speedway in both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, courtesy of Jeff Gordon (NCS – Sept. 2001) and Ricky Hendrick (NCTS – July 2001).

· In four NASCAR Cup Series races this season, Chevrolet has earned at least 50 percent of the top-10 finishing results – three of which have come in the series’ past three events (Texas Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway and Dover Motor Speedway). In each of those events, at least three different Chevrolet organizations were represented in the top-10.

· Team Chevy’s William Byron is the only driver to have a double-digit win record in the NASCAR Cup Series’ Next Gen era – with his victory at Martinsville Speedway marking his 11th all-time victory in the Next Gen Camaro ZL1.

· In 83 points-paying races in the Next Gen era, Chevrolet leads all manufacturers with 43 victories – a winning percentage of 51.8%.

· With its 42 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championships, 33 NASCAR Cup Series Driver Championships, and 857 all-time NASCAR Cup Series wins, Chevrolet continues to hold the title as the winningest brand in NASCAR Cup Series history.

QUOTABLE QUOTES:

ROSS CHASTAIN, NO. 1 Busch Light CROCS CAMARO ZL1

What is racing at like at Kansas?

“Kansas was built like other mile-and-a-half tracks but it doesn’t race like them. It has progressive banking where it gets steeper the further up the track you go up closer to the wall. The winters in Kansas can be tough so that has a big bearing on how the track ages each year. I’ve only raced on the current pavement. I went there the first year of the current pavement in the Truck Series. I’ve gotten to progress with the asphalt there as it ages from super good stuff to where you wanted to stay in the rubber and now you’re looking to get away from the rubber. Now, you want to drive anywhere but where the vehicle in front of you is or where most cars aren’t running. I love the Kansas track. Sometimes I feel like I have to hang on to something so the wind doesn’t blow me away, and sometimes you feel like you’re going to get shoved in the wall because the wind gusts are so strong.”

What are restarts like at Kansas?

“Restarts at Kansas are wild. We have to stay above the white line until the start/finish line and then you can bail to the bottom. Going back to racing in the truck series, I’ve made plenty of three-wide going to the bottom to get position on guys. I’ve ripped the top, getting a run drafting in turn 1 and pulling out and being able to run wide open up there and get to the right rear quarter panel and get the pass done. Most vehicles you’re a lot of throttle all of the way to turn 3 on the restart.”

COREY LAJOIE, NO. 7 GAINBRIDGE CAMARO ZL1

You had a decent run last Sunday at Dover and Spire Motorsports’ intermediate-track package has been trending in the right direction. It feels like the team is making some gains as we head for Kansas Speedway.

“We’re headed to Kansas this weekend looking to make some more positive gains with our Gainbridge Chevrolet. Kansas Speedway has become one of my favorite mile-and-a-halves so this weekend is another great opportunity to create some positive momentum.”

KYLE BUSCH, NO. 8 CHEDDAR’S SCRATCH KITCHEN CAMARO ZL1

You ran well in the spring race last year at Kansas. How did that affect your performance in the fall event where you scored a seventh-place finish?

“We had a really good car in the spring race at Kansas last year. I felt like we were a top three car for sure and to be able to bring that same speed back the second time to Kansas was really helpful. I think we learned a lot the first race we had there last year.”

What is so challenging about Turn 2 at Kansas? There have been eight cautions at that end of the track over the last three races.

“Kansas is tough all around and a lot of it has to do with the wind. The wind can really play havoc on the car’s handling by which direction it’s blowing. I would say that you are trying to maximize your speed at all areas of the track and sometimes when you’re running high against the wall you overstep those bounds and you get in trouble.”

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1

Bowman on racing at Kansas Speedway:

“Kansas (Speedway) was one of the first intermediate tracks I got to race at way back in ARCA. I got a lot of laps there and for whatever reason have been pretty naturally successful there (Kansas Speedway) right off the bat, even in the (NASCAR) Cup (Series) car. Obviously we haven’t won there- but we’ve had a lot of good days there. I’m looking forward to getting back to Kansas (Speedway). It’s a fun racetrack that I enjoy going to.”

BLAKE HARRIS, CREW CHIEF, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1

Harris on racing at Kansas Speedway:

“I think our team has had some good intermediate runs this year. Our No. 48 Ally Racing team has carried mostly good momentum the past couple of months and we don’t really expect anything different this weekend in Kansas. I’d say Kansas (Speedway) is easily one of Alex (Bowman)’s top five (performing) tracks. I know he really enjoys going there (Kansas Speedway) and has had some good runs and led some laps. We expect to go compete in the top five this weekend and aim for a shot to win.”

ZANE SMITH, NO. 71 FOCUSED HEALTH CAMARO ZL1

Your primary sponsor, Focused Health, is debuting a new paint scheme this weekend. What are your thoughts on the scheme?

“I’m pumped for this new paint scheme. When I first saw the renderings, I wanted to run it as soon as possible. It is a scheme that will stand out and everyone will be able to spot easily on the track. I think a new, bright design like this is significant as we progress through the rest of the season. I’m thankful for Focused Health’s support for me and this No.71 team. I am excited to get to Kansas and show it off. Hopefully we will be at the front of the field, and everyone will see it.”

CARSON HOCEVAR, NO. 77 DELAWARE LIFE/CREATIVE ONE CAMARO ZL1

Kansas is a track you’ve raced at plenty of times in your career. How are you feeling this week headed back there, this time racing full time in the Cup series for Spire Motorsports?

“I really like Kansas and it’s a lot of fun running around the top of the racetrack. Another mile-and-a-half, which seems to be our strong suit. I’m looking forward to racing somewhere where you can move around and try different racing grooves. It’s shaping up to be a good weekend with the 77 team.”

DANIEL SUAREZ, NO. 99 CHOICE PRIVILEGES CAMARO ZL1

What do think about racing at Kansas?

“Kansas is going to be fun. It’s a mile-and-a-half track that produces great racing because you have the option of going to the bottom or going to the top. It’s a mile-and-a-half but it feels smaller because you can run everywhere.

Our mile-and-a-half program has been pretty good this season. I think that will show this weekend.”

BAYLEY CURREY, NO. 41 AUTOVENTIVE/PRECISION SILVERADO RST

With three intermediate tracks in a row, how important is it to string together a solid opening race in Kansas?

“I think obviously it’s super important. We’re probably going to turn this truck around to race somewhere soon, whether that be in Darlington or Charlotte. So, being able to start off with momentum and build some confidence heading into this string of races will be important. I feel like we’ve had speed at the other mile-and-a-half tracks with our No. 41 Chevy, so I don’t see anything different here.”

MATT MILLS, NO. 42 J.F. ELECTIC/UTILITRA SILVERADO RST

You’ve had experience in several types of vehicles at this track before, so what are some of the characteristics that make Kansas fun to race on?

“I think it’s fun because of the fact that it’s got a lot of grip. You can move around throughout the whole race depending on what your car or truck is doing. Obviously, ripping around the fence is the biggest thrill for us drivers if everything’s working right. Going there in a truck is a little bit more risky to get close to the wall, so hopefully we’ll have a good enough truck to be able to move around and make time so we can race a little more than some of the other mile-and-a-half tracks.”

KADEN HONEYCUTT, NO. 45 NIECE PRODUCTS OF KANSAS SILVERADO RST

What are some of the most important driving techniques that you’ve been able to pick up while racing on a mile-and-a-half track compared to the short tracks that you’re accustomed to?

“I feel like one of the biggest things I’ve learned is getting used to the dirty air. You have to run opposite lanes and make stuff work, while sure you’re not directly behind someone entering the corner. I feel like Kansas is really good for two-lane racing, especially the bottom was good last year. It changes so much, but that was one of the biggest things was making sure I’m out of line from the truck in front. On the restarts, you need to be in the lane to move to the front on either the top or the bottom lane, whichever is moving forward. You’re just having to constantly search for the air that’s making ground up.”

6 Mechanic Tool Storage Ideas to Get the Most of Your Space

When running a home garage or a small workshop, the need to organize mechanic tools properly arises when space is limited. An untidy workspace not only looks unprofessional but implies a loss of productivity and even causes potential hazards. Fortunately, with some creativity and the right strategies, the available space can be boosted, and your tools will be kept accessible. In this article, let’s have a look at 6 mechanic tool storage ideas that you can use to maximize your work area.

1. Modular Storage Systems

If you want a storage system that is flexible and scale, then invest in a modular storage system from Dyco Ventures or similar brands. Such systems are composed of different parts, including shelves, cabinets, and workbenches. They can be changed or added easily depending on the changing nature of your storage needs.

Modular storage systems offer customization and versatility, that allow you to design a layout that makes the most out of your available space and at the same time meets your specific tool collection. Seek out systems constructed from durable materials like powder coated steel or heavy-duty plastic. The components should have casters or wheels for easy mobility.

2. Wall-Mounted Tool Cabinets

One of the most fundamental ways to save floor space is by considering vertical wall space with wall-mounted tool cabinets. These cabinets are designed to hang on the wall, leaving the floor unoccupied for other purposes. Keeping your mechanic tools off the floor not only creates a roomy workspace but also reduces trips and falls.

Many cabinet manufacturers offer wall-mounted cabinets in a myriad of sizes and materials, which you can choose from to suit your requirements. Steel cabinets can be durable and secure, while wood or plastic ones are more inexpensive. A lot of cabinets also have pegboards or shadow boards that help you arrange your instruments and identify them visually for quick access.

3. Rolling Tool Chests

In case you need mobile storage, rolling tool chests are an ace option. This type of chest is quite strong. It is mounted on casters, which means you can move them around your work area with ease. With your selection of drawers of different sizes, you can organize your mechanic tools and separate them by type or frequency of use.

When choosing a rolling tool chest, think about the size and the amount of drawers you need. Larger chests with more drawers provide more space for storage but may be difficult to navigate in tight spaces. Consider drawers with ball-bearing slides for easy drawer operation and a strong build to carry the weight of your instruments.

4. Overhead Storage Racks

Making use of the ceiling of your garage or workshop is another smart way of increasing the storage space. Overhead racks are uniquely designed to hang firmly from the ceiling. Such a design allows you to store items that take up much space or rarely used tools out of the way and keep your floor space clean.

When selecting overhead storage racks, the weight capacity and material should be taken into account. Heavy-duty steel racks would be better for storing larger or heavier items, while lightweight aluminum or plastic racks may be more appropriate for storing smaller tools or equipment. Install them properly and stay safe to avoid accidents or damage.

5. Toolbox Organizers

For those with limited space, toolbox organizers can be a game changer. These small organizers that can comfortably sit inside your pre-existing toolboxes offer compartments and dividers dedicated to every tool. This not only ensures your mechanic instruments are well organized and easy to reach but also prevents them from clanking around.

While choosing a toolbox organizer, think of the types of stuff you want to store and select one with the right-sized compartments for the job. Some organizers are either made of durable plastic, whereas others are made of foam inserts or removable dividers for customization. Select containers with lockable lids or straps to ensure that everything is well-secured during trips.

6. Magnetic Tool Strips

For mechanics who are in need of brief access to frequently used tools, magnetic tool strips are a convenient solution. These strips are meant to be installed on walls or workbenches. They will hold mechanic tools securely by using strong magnets. Apart from keeping your instruments in proximity it also decongests your drawers or shelves for other things.

When selecting a magnetic tool strip, pay attention to the strength of the magnet and the length of the strip to hold all the tools you have. Secure the strip on a firm surface to prevent it from falling. For added safety, use tool holders or shadows to mark the position of each tool on the tape.

Conclusion

Mechanics need to keep their tools in good order and their working place clean and tidy. Employing the storage techniques revealed in this article will allow you to achieve the most in terms of space, increase efficiency, and create a clean and safe working environment. Wheather you choose wall-mounted cabinets, rolling tool chests, overhead racks, toolbox organizers, magnetic strips, or modular systems. The main point is to find what suits your mechanic needs and space. With a little bit of planning and creativity, your workshop can become a well-organized and fully functional system where you can level up your mechanical skills.

Common Airbag Injuries in Car Accidents

Photo by Julian Hochgesang on Unsplash

Airbags have become a standard safety feature in modern vehicles, designed to protect occupants in the event of a collision. While airbags can save lives and reduce the severity of injuries, they can also cause a range of injuries themselves. Understanding how airbags work, the types of injuries they can cause, and liability in cases of airbag-related injuries is essential for anyone involved in a car accident. In this article, we’ll explore common airbag injuries, how airbags function, and who may be held liable for injuries sustained in a car crash.

How Do Airbags Work?

Airbags are inflatable cushions that deploy rapidly upon sensing a collision. They are designed to provide a cushioning effect and prevent occupants from striking hard surfaces within the vehicle, such as the steering wheel, dashboard, or windshield. When a collision occurs, sensors in the vehicle detect the impact and trigger the airbag to inflate within milliseconds, providing a protective barrier between the occupant and the interior of the vehicle.

Do Airbags Only Deploy In An Accident?

Airbags are designed to deploy only in specific circumstances, typically when the vehicle experiences a significant impact or deceleration indicative of a collision. However, airbags may also deploy in non-collision scenarios, such as during sudden braking, rapid changes in vehicle velocity, or from a sensor malfunction. It’s essential to follow manufacturer guidelines and recommendations regarding airbag deployment and operation to minimize the risk of injury.

Common Injuries From Airbags:

While airbags can mitigate injuries in a car accident, they can also cause a variety of injuries themselves. Some common airbag-related injuries include:

  • Facial Injuries: The impact of the airbag deploying can cause bruises, lacerations, and fractures to the face, particularly the nose and cheekbones.
  • Chest Injuries: The force of the airbag deploying can cause chest injuries, including contusions, rib fractures, and even heart injuries in severe cases.
  • Burns: The high-speed deployment of the airbag can result in friction burns or chemical burns from contact with the airbag material or deployment gases.
  • Fractures: The force of the airbag deployment can cause fractures to the wrists, arms, ribs, and skull, particularly in occupants who are positioned too close to the airbag module.
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs): The rapid acceleration and deceleration associated with airbag deployment can result in traumatic brain injuries, including concussions and intracranial hemorrhage.
  • Eye Injuries: Occupants may sustain eye injuries from the force of the airbag deployment or from debris propelled by the airbag.
  • Hearing Loss: The loud noise generated by the deployment of the airbag can cause temporary or permanent hearing loss in some individuals.
  • Internal Bleeding: The force of the airbag deployment can cause internal injuries, including abdominal or thoracic trauma, leading to internal bleeding.
  • Asthma Attacks: Some individuals may experience asthma attacks triggered by exposure to chemicals or irritants released during airbag deployment.
  • Fetal Injuries: Pregnant women are at risk of fetal injuries from the force of the airbag deployment, including placental abruption, fetal distress, or direct fetal trauma.

Who Is Liable If I Am Injured From An Airbag?

Determining liability in cases of airbag-related injuries can be complex and may involve multiple parties, including vehicle manufacturers, airbag suppliers, and negligent drivers. If a defect in the airbag design or manufacturing contributed to the injuries, the manufacturer or supplier of the airbag may be held liable for damages. Additionally, if a negligent driver caused the accident that led to the airbag deployment, they may be held responsible for any resulting injuries. It’s essential to consult with an experienced Beaumont car accident attorney to evaluate your case, determine liability, and pursue compensation for your injuries.

While airbags play a crucial role in protecting occupants during car accidents, they can also cause a range of injuries themselves. Understanding how airbags work, the types of injuries they can cause, and liability in cases of airbag-related injuries is essential for anyone involved in a car accident. By staying informed and seeking legal guidance when needed, individuals can protect their rights and pursue compensation for injuries sustained in a car crash involving airbag deployment.

Security and Safety Measures

Ready to explore the robust security and safety measures that safeguard your gaming experience in the world of mobile download casinos? When it comes to online gaming, security is paramount. Mobile download casinos employ advanced encryption technologies to ensure that your personal and financial information remains secure. These casinos use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, the same level of protection trusted by major financial institutions, to safeguard your data from unauthorized access.

In addition to encryption, reputable mobile download casinos also implement strict verification processes to ensure the identity of their players. This helps prevent fraud and underage gambling. Moreover, these casinos are licensed and regulated by gaming authorities, ensuring fair play and adherence to industry standards.

To further enhance security, many mobile download casinos offer two-factor authentication, adding an extra layer of protection to your account. By enabling this feature, you receive a unique code on your mobile device that’s required along with your password to log in, making it significantly harder for unauthorized users to access your account. Rest assured, with these comprehensive security measures in place, you can focus on enjoying your favorite games without worrying about the safety of your information.
