Toyota Racing – NXS Martinsville Quotes – Chandler Smith – 04.05.24

Toyota Racing – Chandler Smith
NASCAR Xfinity Series Quotes

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (April 5, 2024) – Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chandler Smith was made available to the media prior to practice for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway on Friday.

CHANDLER SMITH, No. 81 Wheelers Toyota GR Supra, Joe Gibbs Racing

Why do you think you’ve had so much success on the short tracks this season?

“With my experience at short track racing, that is where I come from. That is what I grew up racing, and the being paired with a great team, a great organization and a great manufacturer – I think that is the recipe for success. I’m excited to be here at Martinsville Speedway. I’m excited to be eligible for Dash 4 Cash. Looking forward to seeing what we can do under the lights tomorrow night.”

What has been the adjustment with Joe Gibbs Racing like this season?

“Honestly, there wasn’t that big of, I guess you could say, change. We got to work right after Phoenix, of last year, was in the simulator pretty much every single week – all the way up to Christmas. We took a two-week break off, and then was right back at it again. We’ve got as far as – we are from Texas all the way to Pocono on our sim stuff right now. We were ready. We were prepared for the season, and I think that is why the results have been there. We were so prepared for this season right off the rip.”

What challenge does Martinsville hold?

“It’s similar to Richmond in that track position is big here. I feel like it is bigger here than Richmond, honestly, just because – if you have a bad pit stop, you could be running second, have a bad pit stop, and be running eighth-to-10th. Then you get hit the wrong way, get back in the hornets’ nest, that can ruin your day right there. Just haven’t really had the balance I’ve been looking for. Haven’t had the execution all day on my part – whatever it may have been. Looking to clean that up this year, and hopefully have a decent run.”

Will this race be as crazy at the finish as the fall Martinsville race was?

“No. I don’t think so personally. Now the October race – probably, because if you look at historical – the last two years, it’s trended that way too. I just got rewatching the spring race four hours ago, from last year, and there were a few cautions there at the very end, but as far as up-front stuff – it was pretty much drama free to be completely honest with you. Then you look at the fall race, and it was the complete polar opposite of that, and the year before that as well. I think the year before was when B. Jones (Brandon Jones) and Ty (Gibbs) got into, and then Austin Hill and Myatt Snider – was all in the fall race, so yeah, the fall race tends to be crazier than the spring race for sure. I think it will be just another Saturday night short track race – maybe we will be a little more level headed when it comes down to the finish. There is not as much at stake for what – eight guys out there.”

Is there pressure running for the Dash 4 Cash bonus this weekend?

“No, I’m honored that I’m a part of the program, and I’m really grateful that Xfinity has that program for us – the opportunity to go win $100,000, but we are here to go win a clock. That is what we are here to do – accumulate Playoff points and accumulate wins – the bonuses will come after.”

READY TO TY ONE ON: GIBBS MAKING GREAT STRIDES IN NASCAR CUP SERIES, INCHING CLOSER TO FIRST CAREER WIN

Ty Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing has three top-five finishes through the first seven NASCAR Cup Series races and sits fourth in the points standings. Photo credit: Getty Images.
  • Ty Gibbs has a pair of career-best, third-place finishes this season and currently is fourth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings.
  • The 21-year-old grandson of NASCAR and Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Gibbs visits Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 14, for the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400.

FORT WORTH, Texas (April 5, 2024) – The victories came fast and furious for Ty Gibbs in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series, but the 21-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver still finds himself chasing his first in the Cup Series after 58 career starts.

Gibbs’ patience, however, may not be tested much longer as 2022 Xfinity Series and ’21 ARCA Menards champion is in the midst of a breakout campaign in the Cup Series.

Through the first seven races of the season, the grandson of NASCAR and Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Gibbs is fourth in the Cup Series standings and has established a new career-best finish of third on two occasions (Phoenix and Circuit of The Americas). He also shares the series lead for top-five finishes (3) and top-10 efforts (5).

To put this season into better perspective would be a comparison to his previous 51 Cup races, which consisted of a partial 15-race season in 2022 and full 36-race schedule last year in which he was named the series’ rookie of the year.

Gibbs is one shy of equaling his top-five finishes during that period (4), has led more laps (195-114), established his highest ranking in the Cup standings (second following COTA) and, most importantly, has shown the consistency to excel in the Cup Series. His average starting position is 11.3 and finishing position at 9.0, which rank among the best in the series.

Gibbs (No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota) will look to improve on those statistics Sunday at Martinsville Speedway and then at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 14, for the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 (2:30 p.m. CT, TV: FS1, Radio: PRN, SiriusXM, Lone Star 92.5 FM locally).

“It’s been great,” Gibbs said about the quick start to the season. “It’s just been really good. My team has been doing a really good job. We are working really well together. I’ve been having a lot of fun racing in the Cup Series. It’s really cool.”

Gibbs, who has a combined 30 wins between ARCA (18) and the Xfinity Series (12), showed flashes during his rookie Cup season with 10 top-10 finishes, including a then-career-best fourth at the Charlotte ROVAL. On the flip side, he also posted seven finishes of 31st or worse.

“We couldn’t have predicted quite this level of success,” said Chris Gayle, Gibbs’ crew chief, recently on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “We wanted to get the consistency up, and we knew our end of the season (performance) … forecast a little bit better hope for the start of this year.

“We were definitely running better and had speed that was better weekly, but to come out at the start of this year and be leading in all those categories and be second in points (after COTA), I don’t think we thought we’d be there.”

The continuity of Gaye’s veteran experience paired with the young, aggressive nature of Gibbs also is beginning to pay off.

“It’s really great. … He has been my crew chief since 2021. He’s been working with me for a minute,” Gibbs said. “I feel like we have a good connection, also my engineer – Kyle Abrahims – he’s also been with me and Chris since 2021. We’ve all been working really good together and we are going to keep hammering down.”

Joe Gibbs Racing as a whole has been hammering down as well with all four drivers among the top six in the Cup points standings. The quartet also has combined for three wins and 10 top-five performances. Martin Truex Jr. is first in the standings, Denny Hamlin third, Gibbs fourth and Christopher Bell sixth. Hamlin is coming off his second win of the season this past weekend at Richmond and Bell collected the other at Phoenix.

“First of all, we need to give all of the thanks to Joe Gibbs Racing aero department, alongside with Toyota,” Gibbs said. “The new Toyota Camry XSE body – they’ve just done a great job with it. They’ve worked really hard on it, so it is great for all of them.

“Our team is great, and I have great teammates – they all have different characteristics, which is really cool, and I think that is really helpful with a team. We all come from pretty different backgrounds, so it’s a good atmosphere there and in our meetings on Monday, I can tell we all want it. All of the great feedback is just going to help us get better and better.”

Enhancing Road Safety with New LED Radar Speed Signs

Photo by Fabien Bazanegue on Unsplash

During this age where technological innovations keep on changing almost everything in our lives road safety is also not an exception. One of the innovative things observers can see is the use of the new LED radar speed signs. These innovative devices are making a significant impact on the scene of traffic management ranging from busy city streets to vast highways by displaying real-time speed and are critical in keeping drivers informed and the safety of roads for everyone.

Immediate Speed Awareness

As we are moving into an era in which technology is changing every single field we could imagine in a revolutionary manner, the sphere of safety on the road is also not excluded from this. Innovation that is much talked about is the use of new LED radar speed signs to help in this endeavor.

These cutting-edge devices are completely transforming traffic management from the complex city roads rubbing shoulders with expansive highways by giving drivers the real time speed displays which are vital in ensuring they are well informed and hence making the roads safer for all.

Adaptive Speed Monitoring

The new innovative LED radar signs have the dynamic capabilities of incessantly monitoring speed, in contrast to the static limit signs which only denote speed limits. Leveraging algorithms provides such signs that the speed limit they display is revisiable based on divergent pieces of information, time of day, traffic volume, and weather conditions.

This feedback loop of the adaptive function helps to give out the exact speed advisory that accounts for current situations, leading to drivers’ holistic awareness of the surrounding information, and safe driving behavior.

Enhanced Visibility and Legibility

These new speed signs stand out for their improved visibility and legibility thanks, to the use of LED technology. The vibrant displays, with contrast and easy to read fonts make it easier to see them clearly in challenging weather or low light situations.

This enhanced visibility not helps drivers understand speed recommendations better but also boosts road safety by minimizing the chances of misunderstandings or mistakes.

Community Engagement and Feedback

LED radar speed signs not impact how drivers behave but also encourage community involvement and feedback. These signs allow local governments and transportation agencies to use the data they gather to understand traffic trends identify areas where speeding’s common and pinpoint safety risks.

With this information, at their disposal authorities can introduce solutions, like traffic calming measures or enforcement initiatives to tackle issues and enhance road safety as a whole.

Integration with Smart Infrastructure

The collaboration of LED radar speed signs, with infrastructure showcases an additional aspect of their influence on road safety. Ongoing smart city projects have the capability to smoothly embed these signs enabling data exchange and interaction with traffic control systems.

This interconnected network supports proactive traffic management approaches, like signal regulation and incident identification ultimately boosting road safety measures and improving traffic efficiency.

Conclusion

The arrival of the LED radar speed signs marks an advancement in the continuous effort to enhance road safety. These cutting edge devices offer drivers feedback, on their speed promoting adherence to speed limits. Additionally their ability to adapt, visibility and potential for community involvement make them essential tools in fostering roads and decreasing accidents. As technology progresses incorporating advancements will play a role in building a safer and more effective transportation network, for everyone involved.

Why do no deposit bonuses cast such a powerful spell on players? The secret lies in the human psyche’s penchant for risk-free ventures coupled with the allure of potential gains. Understanding Betting Odds

Exploring the realm of sports betting odds can provide valuable insights into the potential outcomes of our wagers. Understanding how odds work is crucial for making informed betting decisions. Here are three key points to help you grasp the concept of betting odds:

  1. Decimal Odds: Decimal odds represent the amount you stand to win for every unit staked. For example, odds of 2.50 mean that if you bet $10 and win, you’ll receive $25 ($10 x 2.50).
  2. Fractional Odds: Fractional odds display the potential profit relative to the stake. For instance, odds of 5/1 imply that for every $1 wagered, you could make a profit of $5 if the bet wins.
  3. American Odds: Also known as moneyline odds, American odds can be positive or negative. Positive odds (e.g., +200) indicate the potential profit on a $100 bet, while negative odds (e.g., -150) show the amount you need to bet to win $100.

Understanding these different odds formats will empower you to navigate the betting landscape more effectively.

Responsible Gambling Practices

Delving into the realm of sports betting necessitates a keen awareness of responsible gambling practices to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

At the core of responsible gambling is the concept of self-control. Setting limits on the time and money spent on betting activities is crucial. Establishing a budget and sticking to it can help prevent impulsive decisions that may lead to financial strain.

Additionally, it’s essential to recognize the signs of problem gambling and seek help if needed. Responsible gambling also involves understanding the odds and probabilities associated with betting, making informed decisions, and avoiding chasing losses.

Regulations and Legalities

Understanding the regulations and legalities surrounding sports betting in Malaysia is essential for both operators and participants to ensure compliance and a safe betting environment. It’s crucial to stay informed about the laws governing sports betting to avoid any legal repercussions.

Here are three key points to consider:

  1. Licensing Requirements: Operators must adhere to strict licensing requirements set by the regulatory authorities in Malaysia. Obtaining the necessary licenses is vital to operate legally and provide a secure platform for bettors.
  2. Age Restrictions: It’s important to note that there are age restrictions in place for individuals looking to engage in sports betting in Malaysia. Only individuals above the legal gambling age are permitted to participate in betting activities.
  3. Regulatory Oversight: The sports betting industry in Malaysia is closely monitored by regulatory bodies to ensure fair play, transparency, and compliance with the established regulations. Operators and participants must cooperate with these oversight measures to maintain a trustworthy betting environment.

Tips for Successful Betting

To enhance our chances of success in sports betting, it’s crucial to implement strategic approaches and utilize informed decision-making. One key tip is to conduct thorough research on the teams or players involved, their recent performances, and any relevant statistics. By staying informed, we can make more educated bets rather than relying on luck alone.

Additionally, it’s essential to set a budget and stick to it, ensuring that we don’t bet more than we can afford to lose. Emotions should be kept in check, as impulsive decisions based on excitement or frustration can lead to poor choices.

Another valuable tip is to diversify our bets across different sports or events, reducing the risk of heavy losses in case of an unexpected outcome. By following these tips and maintaining discipline in our approach, we can increase our chances of success in sports betting.

Future Trends in Malaysia Betting

As enthusiasts of sports betting in Malaysia, we anticipate exciting advancements and shifts in trends that will shape the future landscape of this industry. The following trends are likely to revolutionize the Malaysia betting scene:

  1. Virtual Reality Integration: Imagine placing bets on your favorite sports matches while feeling like you’re right there in the stadium. Virtual reality technology is poised to enhance the betting experience by immersing punters in a realistic and interactive environment.
  2. Cryptocurrency Payments: With the rise of cryptocurrencies, it’s plausible that Malaysia sports betting platforms will start accepting digital assets as a form of payment. This could offer bettors more security, faster transactions, and increased anonymity.
  3. Artificial Intelligence for Odds Analysis: AI algorithms are becoming increasingly sophisticated, allowing for more accurate predictions and odds analysis. In the future, AI could become a pivotal tool for bettors looking to make data-driven decisions and gain a competitive edge in the betting arena.

Conclusion

Overall, sports betting in Malaysia has a rich history and continues to be popular among enthusiasts. With various online platforms available, understanding betting odds and practicing responsible gambling is key.

NHRA STARS SOUND OFF ON THE CHANCE TO WIN MULTIPLE TIMES THIS WEEKEND AT FIREBIRD MOTORSPORTS PARK

Along with the NHRA Arizona Nationals, the finals of the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals and the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge also takes place in Phoenix

PHOENIX (April 4, 2024) – In short, six NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series drivers have a chance for an epic weekend at Firebird Motorsports Park. Along with the 39th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals, the final round of the postponed Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals happens during final qualifying on Saturday, while the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge takes place on Friday and Saturday.

Top Fuel’s Tony Schumacher and Justin Ashley, Funny Car’s Matt Hagan and John Force, and Pro Stock’s Erica Enders and Dallas Glenn all have a chance for something special this weekend in Phoenix. The six Winternationals finalists spoke about the chance for a spectacular, “triple-up” weekend.

TOP FUEL

TONY SCHUMACHER VS. JUSTIN ASHLEY

This is a rematch of a final round last year in Bristol, where Ashley swept the weekend, winning the New England Nationals against Schumacher, the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge and then the Thunder Valley Nationals the next day.
Schumacher is currently 5-3 against Ashley in eliminations.
Schumacher, an eight-time world champ, is after his first win since 2022. Ashley will attempt to win the Winternationals for the third straight year.

Schumacher: “I’m the most jacked I’ve been in a long, long time. The car is running right, the team is in a great mood. We earned our way into the finals. I’ve done this before, finishing a race during a race weekend. I’ve finished the Charlotte race in Dallas, and last year I raced the Epping finals in Bristol. It doesn’t happen very often, but it’s so exciting when it does. Phoenix is a track that has been good to me in the past so hopefully we’ll have some more of that Firebird success this weekend. There is so much potential at this race and we’re pumped up and ready to go.”

Ashley: “It really is a great opportunity, a unique opportunity and we’ve got a lot on the line. I don’t know that we’ve ever gone into a national event and had every run, starting with Q1, be so meaningful. It’s exciting and all we have to do is turn on seven win lights this weekend. It’s such a difficult thing to do with the depth of this class and you’ve already seen that this year. It’s going to take a lot of toughness from this team to capitalize on this and we’re really looking forward to it and we’re grateful for it.”

FUNNY CAR

JOHN FORCE VS. MATT HAGAN

This is a titanic matchup between two of the greats in the class. Force is the most successful driver in NHRA history with 155 wins and 16 championships, while Hagan is a four-time and reigning world champ.
If Hagan wins on Saturday, he will pick up his 50th career win.
Force is 28-22 in 50 prior meetings, though Hagan holds a 6-3 advantage over Force in final rounds, including most recently in Dallas last year.

Force: “Like anybody, I want to win it all. So, I’m going after it with everything I’ve got. We’re excited to race Hagan. He’s a great champion and he wants to win, just like I do. There’s basically three races to be won and I’m ready for it. We’re just going to do the best we can. I’m fired up.”

Hagan: “The Phoenix weekend is going to be very busy during qualifying. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. At the end of the day, we really just want to put on a good show for the fans. You couldn’t ask for more than to have the opportunity to win two Wallys in one weekend. I think it’ll be a challenging weekend for crew chiefs and drivers, but we’re ready for the challenge. If anyone can do it, TSR can. We’ll have to have the mentality that when you show up for each run, it’s game time.”

PRO STOCK

ERICA ENDERS VS. DALLAS GLENN

Enders is the defending and six-time champion in the category and is seeking her 50th career national event win.
Glenn was the No. 1 qualifier in Pomona and the defending winner at the Winternationals. He also won 4 races a year ago and advanced to nine finals.
Enders holds the lead in prior matchups, posting an 11-4 overall record against Glenn and 3-1 in the finals, winning against him last year in the Dallas finals.

Glenn: “There’s a lot of opportunities to win this weekend in Phoenix between the Mission (Challenge), running the finals of Pomona and the actual Phoenix race, and we’re participating in all three of them! We were ready for that Pomona final a few weeks ago but it will be something new to run it on Saturday in Phoenix. I don’t care what day or what track we run it at – I just want that win.”

Enders: I’m really looking forward to this weekend in Phoenix. When we roll off the trailer, every pass is an elimination round! I’m really excited about having an opportunity to win two Wallys in one weekend. To have a chance to score our 50th and 51st win, in the same weekend, is pretty substantial!

We have a really fast racecar right now and I have the best guys in the business. I’m the final piece to that trifecta and I love what we are able to do together.
