RFK, Castrol Unveil 2024 Schemes

Fifth Year of Partnership Highlighted by 125th Anniversary for Castrol

CONCORD, N.C. (Jan. 16, 2024) – RFK Racing and Castrol have unveiled their schemes for the 2024 season, as Brad Keselowski kicks off the fifth year of partnership at the Clash at the Coliseum (Feb. 4) in the Castrol Edge livery.

Celebrating a huge milestone of 125 years of rich history, innovation and meeting the needs of customers and consumers, Castrol has officially launched a bolder look featuring a new logo, label design, and product innovation to meet the world’s evolving needs.

RFK and Castrol are celebrating their fifth season together in 2024 as the brand will appear on both Keselowski and Chris Buescher’s Ford Mustangs for several events throughout the season, in addition to serving as the team’s Official Motor Oil Sponsor. For the first time ever, Castrol will appear in the Daytona 500 alongside Keselowski and the No. 6 team, and will debut with Buescher and the No. 17 team at Kansas (May 5).

“While this serves as an announcement for fans of our paint schemes, we’re even more thrilled to kick off another successful season with Castrol in 2024,” said Steve Newmark, President, RFK Racing. “Castrol has been one of our anchor partners for years, and to have them on the car for ‘The Great American Race’ will be exciting for all of us as we look to continue some of the Speedway success from years prior.

“Last season (Chris) Buescher brought home a big win for Castrol in the backyard of Jack Roush and Ford at Michigan, which further solidified Castrol’s long-standing relationship with us,” Newmark added. “They have been the lynchpin, and driving force, for our sustainability efforts, and help us be better both on and off the track. Elevating Your Outdoor Riding Experience in the Winter with KEMIMOTO

As the weather changes and becomes colder, the company KEMIMOTO understands that true riders embrace the open road, regardless of the weather. KEMIMOTO specializes in top-quality accessories for ATVs, Motorcycles, UTVs, Bikes, and more. KEMIMOTO’s website features a wide selection of accessories and clothing, specifically heated clothing. When you are outside during the cold winter months, the best way to stay safe and warm is by utilizing their innovative and comfortable premium range of cold-weather heated clothing, designed to keep you warm and protected during chilly rides and outdoor activities.

KEMIMOTO’s selection of cold-weather clothing includes but is not limited to gloves, socks, vests, jackets, and pants, each with unique styles. Currently, a site-wide sale offers all of the following and more for 17% off when using the code AFF17, and if you add two items, you will get the second item for free!

This article will review three of our favorite KEMIMOTO’s heated clothing line choices to help you find the best for your buck.

Classic Heated Vest Black

Last on our favorites list from KEMIMOTO is their Classic Black Heated Vest. While your torso isn’t as susceptible to the cold as your extremities, keeping your core temperature warm is essential to maintaining a safe body temperature.

The vest comes in two different sizes, each boasting a perfect fit for your respective size. This lightweight vest allows you to stay warm without wearing a bulky jacket. This benefit is great for those who participate in recreational activities like skiing as it allows for much more freedom of movement without taking from your warmth and comfort.

This classic heated vest has a powerful battery that provides a fast 5-second warmup time and the ability to charge your phone. Coupled in tandem with the heated socks and gloves, the amount of comfort you will receive is phenomenal outdoors in the cold.

Like the other items on this list, it also offers total control for heating, and this vest has two control switches, three heating levels, and six heating zones you can customize to your heart’s desire. The vest also boasts a whopping 10 hours of battery life, ensuring that you won’t worry about getting cold anytime soon.

Heated Gloves Waterproof Touchscreen 7.4V 2500mAh

KEMIMOTO’s Heated Waterproof Gloves offer a perfect solution for your frigid digits. Wearing proper protection for your fingers is incredibly important because of windchill and safety. With poor-quality gloves, frostbite can set in very quickly due to windchill or dampness. Frostbite coincides with general sluggishness due to finger numbness and is also a safety hazard, limiting reaction time and range of movement.

When wearing KEMIMOTO’s heated gloves, you will not need to worry about either of the previously mentioned issues, as a pair of these will be perfect for any activities during the winter. Activities include vehicular riding on motorcycles, snowmobiles, or ATVs. And recreational activities such as snowboarding, skiing, or even snowplowing.

Comfort and usability are also at a premium, as these gloves offer many benefits over a traditional pair of heated gloves. First, in the form of three heat settings, high at 140-150f (3-4 Hours Charge), medium at 122-131f (4-6 Hours Charge), and low at 104-113f (6-9 Hours Charge), allowing for on-the-fly adjustment depending on your current situation. Secondly, the usability of the gloves is increased by their rechargeable batteries and conductive thumb and index fingers, allowing you to use your devices without needing to remove the gloves.

Unisex Heated Socks with APP Control Black Orange

Next on our list of favorites from KEMIMOTO are their Unisex Heated Socks. Similar to the previously mentioned gloves, protecting the parts of your body most susceptible to frostbite and cold is extremely important. Wearing KEMIMOTO’s controllable heated socks will ensure that you have a comfortable and warm experience whilst outside during the winter, and they come with a plethora of benefits.

The best feature included with the Unisex Heated Socks is their in-app heat control. By connecting the Unisex Heated Socks to your phone via Bluetooth, you can use the app to automatically adjust the heat output of the 360-degree wrapped wires without needing to remove any clothing or shoes.

Another great benefit is in the design of the socks themselves. Each is clearly labeled which foot they go on, and they also have moisture-wicking fabric to aid in the prevention of sweat buildup. Reducing the total amount of sweat equates to more heat retention and comfortability.

Conclusion

In conclusion, KEMIMOTO’s commitment to enhancing the winter outdoor experience is evident in its premium cold-weather gear. Whether you opt for heated gloves, socks, vests, or any other option in their vast inventory, you’re not merely investing in protective gear – you’re investing in comfort, safety, and innovation.

KEMIMOTO’s thoughtful designs, technological advancements, and dedication to user comfort set their heated clothing line apart. Reminder, KEMIMOTO is having a sitewide sale of 17% when using code AFF17 at checkout, and if you add two items, you will get the second item for free! Get the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one today for the holiday season.

This insider looks into the world of professional race teams will uncover the layers of strategy, preparation, and team dynamics crucial to first crossing the finish line. The complex intricacies involved, from mechanical preparation to strategic decision-making, demonstrate a harmonious blend of skill and teamwork. This process is akin to carefully selecting optimal components, ensuring each piece is chosen precisely and thoughtfully.

1. The Role of Strategy in Racing

Racing is more than just fast cars and skilled drivers; it’s a game of intricate strategy. Teams spend countless hours analyzing tracks, weather conditions, and competitors to develop strategies. They make critical decisions about tire choices, fuel loads, and pit stop timings, which can significantly impact the race’s outcome.

2. The Importance of Preparation

Preparation is vital in racing. This includes not only the physical preparation of the car but also the mental and physical preparation of the drivers. Teams work tirelessly to ensure that every component of the car, from the engine to the aerodynamics, is optimized for performance. Using high-quality parts and fluids sourced from reliable suppliers like Search For Parts is essential in this high-stakes environment.

3. Team Dynamics and Communication

The success of a race team hinges on effective communication and solid team dynamics. Crew members, engineers, and drivers must work in unison, sharing information quickly and accurately. Clear communication is vital during the race, especially when making split-second decisions that could mean the difference between winning and losing.

4. Technological Innovation and Data Analysis

Modern racing is deeply rooted in technology and data. Teams collect vast amounts of data during practices, qualifiers, and races. This data is analyzed to fine-tune car performance, strategize pit stops, and improve driver techniques. The continuous evolution of technology in racing demands teams to be innovative and adaptable.

5. The Pressure of Pit Stops

Pit stops are a high-pressure, time-critical component of racing. Teams practice hundreds of pit stops to shave off precious milliseconds. Every role in a pit stop is choreographed meticulously, from the tire changers to the fuel handlers, demonstrating a remarkable level of teamwork and precision.

6. Driver Fitness and Endurance

Driver fitness is a critical aspect often overshadowed by the cars themselves. Professional drivers undergo rigorous physical training to endure extreme racing conditions, such as high G-forces and varying temperatures. Mental endurance is also crucial, as drivers must maintain focus and make rapid decisions at high speeds.

7. The Role of Engineers and Mechanics

Engineers and mechanics are the unsung heroes of a race team. They are responsible for not only the initial build of the car but

Partners like Search For Parts offer financial backing and provide essential high-quality parts and lubricants that can make a significant difference in a car’s performance.

9. Logistics and Travel: The Unseen Challenge

The logistics of getting a team, cars, and equipment to various race locations worldwide is a colossal task. Coordinating travel, accommodations, transport of vehicles and parts, and setting up at the race venue requires precise planning and a dedicated logistics team.

10. Coping with the Unexpected

Adaptability is a crucial trait for any successful race team. Unpredictable weather, technical failures, and accidents are just a few variables that teams have to contend with. The ability to quickly adapt strategies and make the best of challenging situations often sets the top teams apart.

11. The Role of the Team Principal

The team principal is the linchpin of the racing team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operation. This role involves technical and strategic oversight, managing the team’s budget, dealing with the media, and ensuring that the team adheres to the sport’s regulations and standards.

12. Celebrating Success, Learning from Failure

In racing, as in any sport, success is celebrated, and failures are scrutinized for lessons. Teams invest time in post-race analysis to understand what worked and what didn’t. This continuous learning process is vital for the evolution and growth of the team.

13. Embracing Innovation and Technology

Innovation is at the heart of competitive racing. Teams constantly research and develop new technologies to gain an edge over their competitors. This includes advancements in aerodynamics, engine performance, suspension design, and even the materials used in car construction. The integration of cutting-edge technology is not just limited to the vehicle; it extends to the tools and equipment used by the team, enhancing efficiency and precision in all aspects of the race preparation.

14. The Importance of Testing and Development

Before a car hits the track, it undergoes rigorous testing and development. This process is critical in identifying potential issues and improving the car’s performance. Teams use a combination of wind tunnel testing, computer simulations, and real-world track testing to refine their vehicles. This phase is as crucial as the race itself, as it lays the groundwork for the performance on race day.

15. Mental and Team Resilience

Racing is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. The ability of the team and the driver to stay resilient under pressure, maintain focus, and bounce back from setbacks is crucial to success in racing. This mental toughness is often cultivated through team-building exercises, psychological training, and a robust support system within the team.

16. The Role of Race Strategists

Race strategists play a pivotal role in determining the course of the race. They decide when to pit, what tires to use, and how to react to changing race conditions. Their decisions are based on a comprehensive real-time data analysis, weather conditions, and competitors’ performance. A good strategy can often be the difference between winning and losing.

17. Safety Measures and Protocols

Safety is paramount in racing. Teams invest heavily in safety equipment and protocols to protect the driver and crew. This includes advancements in car safety features, protective gear, and emergency response procedures. Ensuring the safety of everyone involved is a top priority that shapes many aspects of team operations and car design.

18. The Evolving Nature of Race Tracks

Each race track presents unique challenges, and teams must adapt their cars and strategies accordingly. The track’s layout, surface type, and even the location’s climate can significantly affect the car’s performance. Understanding and adapting to these nuances is critical to the team’s preparation.

19. The Impact of Regulations and Rule Changes

Professional racing is governed by rules and regulations that can change from season to season. Teams must stay abreast of these changes and adapt their strategies and car designs to comply. These regulations often aim to ensure fair competition and safety but can also present new challenges and require innovative solutions.

Conclusion

Behind every thrilling race, there’s an intricate world of strategy, preparation, and teamwork. Professional race teams are complex operations where every detail matters, from the parts sourced from Search For Parts to the split-second decisions made on the track. The success of a race team is a collective effort involving not just the skill of the driver but the combined expertise and dedication of the entire team. As we peek behind the scenes, it becomes clear that racing is not just a sport but a symphony of speed, strategy, and teamwork.

How Executive Chauffeur Services Enhance Corporate Productivity

Business trips are usually planned according to a strict schedule. That means every minute counts, and being a minute late starts a chain of juggling between meetings while facing traffic challenges. It’s stressful, exhausting, and may negatively affect your overall productivity. So, why deal with it when you have a pretty elegant solution?

Many business travellers around the world are already using an executive chauffeur service to enhance overall corporate productivity. By booking this kind of service on time, you’re not only saving precious minutes but showcasing professionalism and dedication too. From answering emails during the ride to even having a few online meetings just to catch up – you can have it all and even more!

But how does this particular service help you increase corporate productivity?

Beyond Luxury: The Productivity Advantage

In the past, chauffeurs were often associated with luxury and extravagance. Today, they are strategic partners to business travellers, as they offer:

  • Time Efficiency – Commuting through the city takes hours, but chauffeurs transform those hours into productive working time to have some calls or review documents.
  • Reduced Stress – Traffic, unfamiliar roads, and parking challenges are large stressors, so delegate these tasks to the chauffeur and arrive calm, collected, and focused.
  • Enhanced Client and Partner Perception – Using a chauffeur luxury vehicle means you leave a great first impression and commitment to professionalism, which boosts the trust and confidence of partners and clients.
  • Flexibility and Agility – Chauffeur companies offer on-demand flexibility, being able to adapt to your schedule or last-minute meetings.

This way, you appear serious and dedicated in the eyes of the clients and partners, and they appreciate your effort to always be on time and meet all their specific requirements.

Beyond the Basics: Value-Added Services

When it comes to price, executive chauffeurs can be pretty expensive. But when considering the overall value, it makes for convenience, enhanced productivity, and saved time on transportation.

How do they do that?

  • Airport Transfers – An executive chauffeur will wait for you, assist with the luggage, save precious time, and avoid long queues.
  • In-Car Amenities – Most of the vehicles have great Wi-Fi, comfortable seats, phone and laptop charging stations, and complimentary water to refresh.
  • Concierge Services – Depending on the company, you can hire chauffeurs to help you book tickets for events or even recommend great restaurants to have dinner with your business partners.

All these mentioned values indeed change the overall experience. Imagine you have to deal with airport crowds, or you don’t have at least a bottle of fresh water to drink after the flight. By having the executive chauffeur by your side, you’ll be able to handle even unplanned events and still arrive on time for every meeting you have.

How Executive Chauffeurs Positively Affect Your Business?

As we said, hiring an executive chauffeur is quite an expense, but they can contribute to making a business profit indirectly.

Curious to learn how?

By optimizing the traveling time, you won’t lose billable hours just because you couldn’t connect to your laptop or your phone battery was low. Also, when having a long-distance business trip, you can handle a few online meetings with no need to postpone or reschedule anything. You even have time to talk to your family privately, as the executive services are discrete, private, and dedicated to the client’s well-being.

Since you’re available to your partners and clients, they’re satisfied with your service. At the same time, you’re focused on business, creating a pleasant working environment within your company. You see, this service is not only about picking you up from the airport and taking you to a business meeting. Chauffeur companies become your strategic partner that indirectly contributes to your performance and business success.

Executive Chauffeur: A Strategic Investment in Productivity

Executive chauffeur services aren’t only a luxury expense that you may skip on. Surely, you can use any transportation option you prefer, but this is the only one that saves time, reduces stress, and improves your business relationship. They add value to any action you take to empower your job and passively contribute to your company’s success.

You can change the whole way you do business for yourself, your employees, and all those companies and partners that collaborate with you. By embracing time efficiency and stress-free rides, you ensure you’re always on the exact spot, at the exact minute, with no risk of ruining your reputation or being late just because you aren’t familiar with the roads and traffic conditions. If you are going for a business tour to Las Vegas, you can avail the best chauffeur service Las Vegas offers, ensuring a seamless travel experience.

Consider this hire as an investment in your future, not an expense that will squeeze out your traveling budget. It will surely affect the way you do business while traveling, helping you not to miss anything that happens. So, choose your chauffeur company and enjoy all the benefits that come with such a hire.

Legacy Motor Club executive Joey Cohen on changing manufacturers and the future of NASCAR’s most interesting team

Photo by John Knittel for SpeedwayMedia.com.

If you haven’t been paying attention to Legacy Motor Club, you need to be. When I spoke with Joey Cohen, Vice President of Racing Operations for the team on January 11th, there was an aura of confidence that surrounded every answer he gave, and rightfully so, as the team has made more noise in the offseason than many pundits thought they would.

One of the biggest moves the team made was switching manufacturers from Chevrolet, whom the team had been with since 2018 when they were still Richard Petty Motorsports, to Toyota. Cohen said a lot goes into a Cup Series team changing manufacturers, especially when they have to maintain appearances until the final laps of the season.

“The fortunate thing was, we got to go out to the Phoenix test in December when they were testing the short track aero package. That track time is irreplaceable. It’s stuff that you just can’t replicate. To have that track time in the offseason during the transition, to go from running a Chevrolet at Phoenix when the checkered flag falls in November to 30 days later running a Toyota at the same track is a massive effort by our group to build the car, but also by our engineering group. It’s a massive effort on their part to unload another vehicle and go make laps at a competitive pace. So it takes a group effort. It takes a whole team effort and is supported by, obviously, a great OEM partner in Toyota, great people at Legacy Motor Club, great mechanics, great engineers. That’s what gets it done in the offseason.”

Cohen said the engineering group at LMC is bearing the brunt of the manufacturer change.

“You see the (physical) vehicle change, and with the Next Gen platform, that’s pretty easy to accomplish. Our chassis are still the same. Most of the components in the car are the same. It’s really just the body, driveline, and engine package changing. We have really great partners in Toyota going over to this TRD engine platform. Those guys are doing a great job of handling that aspect of it. We hang all of our own bodies ourselves, so we have the capability to take that on ourselves. But it’s really a massive effort by the engineering group on the other side of things. Everything they have from tools to preparation, to how they do their job changes completely. Different simulation tools, different simulator, different programs for the engineering department to set up vehicles, work on pre-event stuff with vehicle optimizations and setups. All our information is based off Chevrolet, so it’s really just transferring that information to a Toyota environment. That’s going to the Toyota wind tunnel in Salisbury (North Carolina). So I’d say the busiest group this offseason has been our engineers, who have been trying to correlate where we’ve been with the Next Gen car the last 2 years, and translating that into the Toyota Platform.

Whether it be on track performance or garnering more sponsorship for the team, Cohen agreed wholeheartedly when I told him it seemed to be an exciting time in the race shop.

“You can tell there’s energy in the shop right now. Most of the group has been here since Day 1, and to see where it was two years ago, you almost have to pinch yourself, right? It’s one thing to be in the presence of Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson. But it’s a fast-paced environment and a lot of good things are happening, things you can get excited about. Today, we announced a partnership with Family Dollar and Dollar Tree on a 38-race schedule. It just seems like every time we turn around, there’s been an announcement. There’s some energy coming out of Legacy Motor Club. That’s really fun to be a part of. There’s no replacement for continuing to grow and continuing to move forward. Along the way, there’s been success and there’s been growing pains, but overall, when you look at the span of 2 years and now going into the third one, I think it’s really exciting when you look at what’s on our plate this season, and a lot to be excited about when you think about Toyota support coming in in our third year as an organization. I think if you look around at our peers, they kind of hit their stride going into their third year.  And that’s just a product of getting your feet under you, getting your systems in place and getting your staff and team built out. That’s a process. It takes time. A lot of these things are coming together at the right time with Toyota coming on board and our team coming into its own going into year three. So we have a certain level of energy in the shop right now going into 2024.”

“Expectations are really high. That’s a really good place to be in for a young team like ours.”

As I asked Cohen about the team’s driver lineup in 2024, his face lit up, especially when I mentioned 7-time champion Jimmie Johnson.

“We’re really excited about our driver lineup for 2024. To be where we are as an organization and have two established veterans of the sport, even though they’re both floating around 26, 27 years old, I’m like you, I feel like Erik Jones has been in the Cup Series for 10 years now. We’re really excited for Erik and John Hunter to have the resources behind them. A driver needs a good team and good OEM support behind them. I feel like we have 2 of the best drivers in the garage from an organizational standpoint. It’s exciting when you can give those guys what they need in the garage, the tools they need to grow quickly. And then, having Jimmie back this season for a good handful of races, including some racetracks he had a lot of success at, is huge. The Daytona 500 is always going to be fun, but we’re really excited for some of the other races on his schedule this year. He’s going to Charlotte, Kansas, Dover, places where he’s been historically dominant. It’s going to be a really fun season overall with our three drivers.

“We feel like we’re in a really good spot for the future.”

Legacy Motor Club will start their season off with the rest of the field in Los Angeles on February 4th with Erik Jones and John Hunter Nemechek, and Jimmie Johnson will join them in the Daytona 500 on February 18th. Both races will air on FOX.

OPEN WHEEL SHOWDOWN UNVEILS NEW DATE AND VENUE FOR 2024, HEADING FOR IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY

IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA (January 15, 2024) – Davey Hamilton Jr. has officially shared updates on the second annual Davey Hamilton Jr’s Open Wheel Showdown, revealing an exciting new location and date for 2024. Scheduled from November 22-24, 2024, at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California, this year’s Open Wheel Showdown promises to deliver thrilling action on the half-mile progressively banked oval.

The weekend’s lineup will consist of Super Modifieds, National Midgets, and, of course, the Winged Pavement Sprint Cars. Once again, the winner of the National Midget main event will receive $10,000 and the Sprint Car winner will take home $50,000. Hamilton also announced his team is working hard to ensure all teams who do not advance to the A-main will still receive prize money, with the complete purse breakdown set to be unveiled soon.

The shift in date to a Friday through Sunday format strategically positions the event between the USAC National Midget Series West Coast Swing and the renowned annual Turkey Night Grand Prix, offering fans a week filled with diverse open-wheel racing.

Irwindale Speedway, renowned for hosting numerous USAC National and Western States Midget Series events, will witness the return of National Midgets to its racy ½ mile progressive-banked oval, a sight unseen since the 2011 Turkey Night Grand Prix.

Midgets have left an indelible mark on the speedway’s 25-year history, with the late Dave Steele clinching the victory in the inaugural event in March 1999, marking the opening of Irwindale Speedway with a USAC Western States Midget triumph. The upcoming Open Wheel Showdown also marks the revival of winged sprint cars at Irwindale Speedway, absent since 2019 when Bobby Santos III secured a King of the Wing event on November 10.

The commencement of the entry process for the 2024 Open Wheel Showdown is scheduled for February 1. Teams are encouraged to promptly submit their entries as sprint car entries are limited to 65, owing to pit constraints. Sales for RV spots will also begin on February 1, while ticket sales will be made available closer to the event.

Expressing his excitement about the venue change, Davey Hamilton Jr. stated, “I am thrilled to bring the Open Wheel Showdown to Irwindale Speedway, ensuring great racing and an exceptional fan experience. After an incredible debut last year, we are upping the ante with an expanded purse in 2024. A heartfelt thank you to Tim and everyone at Irwindale Speedway for making this possible.”

For further details on the second annual Davey Hamilton Jr’s Open Wheel Showdown or to submit an official entry for this year’s event, visit www.openwheelshowdown.com. Entry opens on February 1st

That included an early December IMSA-sanctioned test at the racetrack where Cadillac Racing won the Rolex 24 At Daytona four years in a row in the DPi era.

“I hit the reset button the Monday after the IMSA banquet in October,” said Chris Mitchum, director of race team operations for Action Express Racing that runs the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R. “You always want to improve and it’s not only with the car.”

Knowledge, data acquisition, contingency preparation, communication and a host of other crucial elements were gleaned from the first season of competition, which early on had been an extension of testing the new racecar.

“There has been a huge advantage from where we were 12 months ago to where we are now,” Mitchum said. “In racing years – if you can compare it to dog years – I think we’ve achieved at least three years’ worth of work in one year’s worth of time across the Cadillac program. We’re equally prepared to go to Daytona now as we were in every other championship year we’ve had.”

Cadillac has won the overall Rolex 24 title four times since the inception of the DPi era. Van der Zande is a two-time winner (2019, 2020) with Cadillac Racing, while third-year teammate Bourdais is also a double winner (2014, 2017). Blomqvist, endurance driver for the championship-winning No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R, has won the Rolex 24 the past two years. He drove to the pole in 2023.

“The 01 Cadillac team is anxious to kick of the 2024 IMSA Weathertech season. We are ready to build on our Rolex 24 At Daytona success with the Cadillac V-Series.R after finishing third and fourth there in its debut race in 2023,” said Mike O’Gara, director of operation and race strategist for the No. 01 Cadillac V-Series.R run by Chip Ganassi Racing.

“It has been a few years since Chip Ganassi Racing has won overall at Daytona, but we feel confident that we can compete for another win and add to our eight victories there. We have been working hard in the offseason at the racetrack testing, as well in the race shop, to be ready. It’s exciting to be returning with our IMSA veteran drivers Renger van der Zande and Sebastien Bourdais, and it is great to have Scott Dixon back again and then with a pleasant surprise in being able to add Alex Palou to lineup this year, as well. Having the opportunity to work with drivers, engineers and a crew of this caliber is an honor.”

Qualifying Jan. 21 will be streamed on Peacock and IMSA.com beginning at 1:55 p.m. ET.

Cancer Survivor Jerry White Taking Delivery of Cooper Abbott’s Race Bike

Indianapolis, IN – A heartfelt collaboration unfolded as Cooper Abbott, in partnership with The Fox Auto Team, Sherco USA, and the Steve and Nancy Fox Cancer Center, joined forces to present a touching gift. Cooper generously donated his 2023 Sherco SEF 300 EnduroCross race bike to an individual or family whose passion for riding had been put on hold due to a cancer diagnosis.

After meticulously reviewing numerous submissions, one narrative stood out among the rest — Jerry White’s story resonated deeply with everyone involved. In a touching moment, Cooper Abbott personally delivered the news to Jerry, informing him that his story had been chosen for this meaningful gift.

“I saw an Arizona number pop up on my phone and wondered who this could be,” commented Jerry White. “To my surprise, it was Cooper Abbott himself telling me I had been selected to get his EnduroCross race bike. I was utterly in shock when I heard that news and I got a bit emotional. I have been through so much as it relates to cancer with my mom and myself personally. It really threw a curveball in my life. I want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Fox, Sherco USA and Cooper and his family who know exactly what I had to endure for this moment. I am looking forward to racing some cross country with my son in the next few weeks. This Sherco is simply amazing,” concluded Mr. White.

Below is Jerry’s submission letter.

“Hello

My name is Jerry White. I’m a father of 3. My son and I both race xc. My plan was to have my son start racing earlier then 2023 but life throws us curve balls sometimes. Back in 2011 I got a phone call on April 1st just as I was walking into work and it was my younger brother. He was down and out and later that evening I get a text from him and so I called my mother to have her check on him. It was 2 late. He had committed suicide already with my mom and stepdad with all 3 of my children upstairs.

Fast forward a few years to feb 2014 and my mother calls me and tells me she is sick. She went in for her first chemo treatment that week and passed away the following week.

Fast forward to June of 2014 and I get a call saying to go straight to the doctor. They ran a bunch of tests and kept me overnight. Everything kept coming up negative. So they pulled bone marrow the following day. A couple weeks later they told me had CML leukemia. The first medication was rough and I had missed close to 6 months of work. I had to sell our bikes and my son was only 5 and didn’t quite understand why I had to sell his new bike that he didn’t even get to ride yet. It’s been a roller coaster with insurance but I finally started doing better and was back on my feet in 2020 so we got some pit bikes and started easing back into it. This year was my sons first full year of racing xc on a supermini and he ended up 4th in class at the end of the season. All I know is you just gotta keep moving no matter what because tomorrow is promised to you and when your down you got nowhere to go but up. So I just try to stay positive and keep pushing forward.

The Ultimate Guide to Sourcing Genuine Mercedes Parts

When it comes to maintaining the prestige and performance of a Mercedes-Benz, using genuine parts is non-negotiable. These finely-tuned machines, known for their luxury and durability, deserve nothing less than components that meet the highest standards of quality and compatibility. This guide provides an indispensable resource for Mercedes owners and enthusiasts, ensuring that the parts you choose not only preserve the integrity of your vehicle but also contribute to its optimum performance. Whether you’re a seasoned mechanic or a new Mercedes owner, understanding how to source the right parts is key to your vehicle’s longevity and your driving satisfaction.

Understanding the Importance of Genuine Mercedes Parts

Genuine Mercedes parts are not just a recommendation; they’re a necessity for maintaining the high standards set by the manufacturer. These parts are specifically designed and tested to meet the exact specifications of your Mercedes model. Unlike aftermarket parts, which might offer a one-size-fits-all solution, genuine parts are crafted to integrate seamlessly with the unique systems of your Mercedes.

The use of genuine parts ensures that your vehicle maintains its manufacturer-set safety, efficiency, and performance standards. In terms of safety, non-genuine parts may not have undergone the rigorous testing that Mercedes demands, potentially compromising the vehicle’s reliability in critical situations. Efficiency-wise, genuine parts are tailored to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions, aligning with the brand’s commitment to eco-friendly performance.

Furthermore, the performance of your Mercedes is intimately tied to the quality of its components. Genuine parts maintain the smooth, responsive driving experience that Mercedes-Benz is known for. They also contribute to preserving the vehicle’s resale value, as a car with authentic parts is often more attractive to potential buyers.

Navigating the Market: Where to Find Authentic Mercedes Parts

Finding authentic Mercedes parts can seem daunting, but knowing where to look simplifies the process. The most reliable source is always a licensed Mercedes-Benz dealership. Dealerships maintain a comprehensive inventory of genuine parts, specifically designed for various Mercedes models. They also offer the expertise of knowledgeable staff who can assist in selecting the right part for your vehicle.

For those who prefer online shopping, Mercedes-Benz’s official website is a treasure trove. It provides a user-friendly platform where you can search for parts based on your vehicle’s model and year. Additionally, several reputable online retailers specialize in genuine Mercedes parts. However, caution is advised when purchasing from third-party websites; always verify the authenticity of the parts and the credibility of the seller.

Another option is to explore Mercedes-Benz clubs and forums. These communities are rich in knowledge and often have members selling or trading genuine parts. Plus, they offer the added benefit of advice and experiences shared by fellow Mercedes enthusiasts.

Deciphering Part Authenticity: Tips to Avoid Counterfeits

In a market flooded with counterfeit parts, ensuring the authenticity of your Mercedes parts is crucial. Counterfeit parts not only compromise the performance and safety of your vehicle but can also lead to costly repairs down the line. Here are some tips to help you avoid falling prey to counterfeit Mercedes parts.

Genuine Mercedes parts come in high-quality, branded packaging with a unique part number. Always compare the part number with the one listed in your vehicle’s manual or the manufacturer’s website. Authentic Mercedes parts exhibit superior craftsmanship. Be wary of parts that have uneven finishes, misspelled branding, or feel lighter than expected. Reputable sellers should provide proof of authenticity, such as certificates or purchase receipts from Mercedes-Benz. If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Extremely low prices can be a red flag for counterfeit parts. When in doubt, consult with a Mercedes-Benz dealer or a trusted automotive expert. They can help verify the authenticity of the parts.

Long-Term Care and Maintenance: Getting Genuine Mercedes Parts

Investing in genuine Mercedes parts is just the first step; realizing the importance of automotive maintenance and repairs ensures they perform optimally over their lifetime. Regular maintenance is key to preserving the integrity and functionality of these high-quality components. Here are some essential tips for the long-term care of your genuine Mercedes parts.

Adhere to the maintenance schedule recommended by Mercedes-Benz. Regular check-ups can prevent minor issues from turning into significant problems. When cleaning or maintaining your Mercedes, always use products recommended by the manufacturer. This includes everything from engine oil to cleaning agents. For complex parts or systems, it’s advisable to have them serviced by certified Mercedes-Benz technicians. They have the expertise and tools to handle these parts with care. Stay attentive to changes in your vehicle’s performance. Early detection of issues can prevent damage to genuine parts.
